How to set up IFB and VoIP on a TVU receiver

Easily connect a USB Preamp to your TVU Receiver to set up IFB and VoIP.

Set up IFB and VoIP on a TVU Receiver:

1. Connect the USB Cable for the USB Preamp into any available USB Port on your TVU receiver. You can use either the front or back USB ports.
2. Connect the included Preamp USB cable into the Preamp To computer port.
3. Press the red USB Preamp POWER button until it clicks into the powered ON position.
4. Connect a TRS or XLR audio input source into the USB Preamp LEFT INPUT connection to route audio into the USB Preamp.
5. Turn the LEFT GAIN knob to adjust the left input and select the gain for your microphone.

Note: If the red clip light on the USB Preamp is illuminated, it indicates that the volume input is set too high, and the audio source will then be “clipped” or cut off.

You can either adjust the audio source level directly or use the LEFT GAIN knob to decrease the gain until only the green “signal” light is illuminated and the “clip” light is turned off.

6. Confirm that the USB Preamp is physically connected TVU Receiver. Then, open the TVU receiver software interface to configure the software settings.
7. Click Settings and select Set Media.
8. In the Set Media Device pop-up, open the microphone drop-down menu and select the USB Audio Codec device.

If you also want to allow two-way audio return, open the Speakers drop-down menu, and also select the USB Audio Codec device.
9. Click Apply.
10. Restart the TVU Receiver services for these changes to take effect.

Using the VoIP Start with Live feature:

1. To enable the VoIP/IFB call to automatically start when you go Live with a source, click Settings and select VoIP Start with Live from the drop-down menu.
2. In the VoIP Start With Live pop-up, move the slider to the right to Enable the feature.
3. Restart the TVU Receiver services for these changes to take effect.

Note: Leaving the VoIP Start With Live feature disabled will require you to start the VoIP or IFB call manually for each source.
