Paul Shen is an expert in the digital video area and a successful serial entrepreneur. Paul was the founder and CEO at Imedia Corporation, a leader in digital video communication that was acquired by Terayon in 1999. Imedia Corporation delivered the first statistical re-multiplexer, CherryPicker, which played a central role in digital television distribution in cable and satellite TV services. Previously, Paul defined the hardware architecture for General Instrument’s first all-digital television system and the first digital high definition television (HDTV) system. He served as a General Instrument representative to the MPEG Committee, where he chaired the MPEG4 Syntax Group and led the effort to define a new object-oriented descriptive language. Paul holds 10 patents. Paul’s most recent U.S. company, Open Harbor, where he was co-founder and CEO, provided web-based services for international trade facilitation. Paul has a B.S. from the New York Institute of Technology and a M.S. degree from M.I.T., under well-known professor William Schreiber.
Dan Lofgren’s career spans over 20 years in Silicon Valley's high technology companies, first as a software engineer and engineering manager, then as a product manager. He’s worked for both software and hardware companies, in Internet services, telecommunications, e-commerce, and digital video, and has also consulted (as owner of Numerate Solutions) on quantitative marketing topics such as pricing and ROI. Dan was most recently VP of Product Management for TVU Networks. Dan spent four years as VP of Product Management at Open Harbor (web services for international trade facilitation); before that, he was Director of Product Management at Beyond.com, an e-commerce company. Dan has a B.S. in Applied Math from Yale.
Chris Bell is responsible for spearheading TVU Network’s mission to ensure every transmission from TVUPack is successful. Chris has 22 years of IT support and management experience with a solid reputation for building world class support organizations. Prior to joining TVU Networks, he was Director of Technical Operations for Time Warner Cable, overseeing all IT, Engineering, and Operations for four television channels in three top 50 US markets. Before Time Warner, Chris spent 8 years with Compaq and Hewlett Packard in a variety of management roles and was heavily involved in launching both PCMCIA and 802.11 technology across Europe. Chris is based in TVU Networks’ North Carolina office.
Matt McEwen leads the TVU Networks Product Management team. He has over 17 years of experience developing award-winning broadcast and professional video products. Prior to TVU Networks, Matt was Director of Product Management at Focus Enhancements, Inc., a leading manufacturer of professional video solutions that was acquired by Vitec Multimedia in 2010. While at Focus, Matt was responsible for multiple product lines including the award winning line of FireStore DTE Recorders, which was a key technology in the transition to tapeless acquisition in the broadcast market. Before Focus, Matt held various product management, marketing and technical positions at Videonics, Production Audio Video Technology (Australia) and Ampex. Matt has a BA from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia.
Eric Chang oversees all corporate marketing efforts for TVU Networks including branding, lead generation, email marketing, social media marketing, content marketing, advertising, public relations, and trade shows. Prior to TVU Networks, Eric was Director of Product Marketing at Mindjet where he oversaw the go-to-market launch of the company’s new Salesforce AppExchange application. He previously spent three years as Director of Marketing Strategy at ELM Resources, a leading SaaS solution provider to colleges and universities. Before joining ELM, Eric led marketing and product management teams at human capital management leader ADP. He was also previously Director of Marketing at consumer products company Mattel, Inc. where he oversaw multiple retail software product lines. He started his marketing career at the Coca-Cola company as Internet Marketing Manager, leading online branding, advertising and promotional efforts. Eric has a BA from UC Berkeley and a MBA from the Peter Drucker School of Management at the Claremont Graduate University.
Kap Shin founded Zing networks, an early online photo sharing and rich-media community site that partnered with Hewlett Packard, Sony, Canon, Casio, Nikon and Konica. Winner of several awards including Forbes Favorite, CNET #1 Photosite and Fortune Magazine Cool Company, Zing was acquired by Sony ImageStation. After Zing, Kap went on to be CTO at AirPrism, Inc., a mobile device management solution provider. He led the design effort of a new class of enterprise software for mobile device management to allow corporate IT to centrally manage a large number of mobile devices (PDAs, laptops, smartphones) over wireless networks (802.11, GPRS, CDMA). Product recognitions include Planet PDA Product of the Year 2003 and Mobility Award 2004. Kap was also VP of Strategic Technology Sourcing at JPMorgan Chase and Management Consultant at Bain & Co. Kap earned a B.A. in Computer Science from Brown University and an MBA from Harvard.
Kyle Luther leads TVU Networks North America sales team. As a broadcast industry veteran, Kyle has held various senior leadership positions at multiple industry-leading brands. He was most recently at Grass Valley/Belden in the role of Vice President of Sales, North America. Prior to his time at Grass Valley, Luther also served as Vice President of Sales, USA at Ross Video.
David Jorba leads TVU Networks Europe. He has over 20 years of executive experience in broadcast, new media and digital content production software. David has worked with the most successful broadcast networks and digital media companies across the Americas and Europe. Prior to TVU Networks, David has held positions as President as well as SVP of Operations at Vizrt Americas, Creative Director at CNN+ and has done extensive consultant work for the global digital media industry. David earned a B.S. in Journalism & Mass Communications from Kansas University and graduated from Portfolio Center's Design program.
Rafael Castillo leads TVU Networks in Latin America and the Caribbean. He brings over 20 years of executive experience in media and digital content acquisition, management, production and distribution. Rafael has led the Latin American region for some of the most successful technology companies for the media and entertainment industry. Most recently, he served as the Vice President of Latin America and Caribbean for Snell Advanced Media, as well as Vice President of Latin America for SeaChange International. Previously, Castillo worked for Grass Valley for 18 years, including seven years in the role of SVP, Latin America. Entrepreneurial and passionate about driving dynamic teams on a sustainable path of success.
Matt Keiler has over 18 years of experience in media, enterprise software and sports markets. Matt has vast experience with IP-based workflows across many industries. Prior to TVU Networks, he spent 7 years at Automatic Data Processing (ADP) leading enterprise software sales and channel development in the Midwest. Matt also spent 6 years with Tribune Company, NBC Sports Network and FOX Sports Net in a variety of affiliate sales roles. He has a BA from Ohio University.
