How to create a Program Template in TVU Channel

TVU Channel makes it simple for anyone to create a Program Template. Program templates are ideal for scheduling recurring daily live shows and setting program blocks for an entire day or part of a day, then applying them to a schedule before the content is fully ready. Program templates can be saved with SCTE splices, timing markers, and other functions.

To create a Program Template without SCTE markers:

  1. Click the Program Template tab.
  2. Click the Plus icon.
  3. To start a new template, select With an empty document.
  4. In the Program Settings window, enter a Name in the Program Name field.
  5. Select the Media drop-down menu in the “Live/Reference Media field” and select a streaming Live or Media (MP4) source.
  6. Enter a time duration in minutes.
  7. Add a brief Programming description in the provided field.
  8. TVU Channel will automatically populate the events list with SCTE markers and a Reference media entry in the bottom Event panel. You must leave the Reference media entry in the list for the program to execute correctly.
  9. Click the trash icon to the right of the SCTE Start and End entries, leaving your Reference entry in the events panel.
  10. Click the Save button. Your new program template is now available in the left panel.
  11. To view the programs in your new template, click the program in the Playout window and click the Events tab. If desired, you may also make source changes from this tab and click Save .

About TVU Channel

TVU Channel is a cloud streaming service created by TVU Networks that completely revolutionizes creating, managing, operating, and monetizing a 24/7 digital channel. Using cellular bonding and low latency features, broadcasters & producers alike can manage remote productions and multi-camera live streaming with ease. Our zero infrastructure environment has massively reduced the time, cost, and complexity of creating custom channels. In addition to creating new content channels, many broadcasters use Channel as a backup for their television stations Master Control.
