TVU Remote Commentator – How it works

TVU Remote Commentator uses existing microservices that provide essential features, such as synchronizing sources, high-quality video, and low latency. In addition, the customized Web User Interface enables the commentator and talents to experience a simple and independent production using mobile phones and laptops.

How TVU Remote Commentator works:

  1. TVU Remote Commentator requires a self-service subscription activation from the TVU Remote Commentator landing page.
  2. The Remote Commentator operator sets up a remote commentator event and obtains a live, or recorded video ingest.
  3. The commentator receives a link to view the event. This link opens a Chrome browser window whereby he can provide audio commentary within his assigned group.
  4. The audio commentary is sent back to the station and distributed to terrestrial, satellite, and social media outputs using the internet.
  5. The production is monitored and controlled using the easy-to-use Web interface.

About TVU Remote Commentator

TVU Remote Commentator is a cloud-based commentary platform. On-air announcers and talent can call the action from their homes, hotel rooms, offices – wherever there’s an internet connection. Using a simple browser-based interface on a laptop or smart device, TVU Remote Commentator allows talent to simply log in and become part of the production. Talent sees a low-latency, high-quality preview of the event and can add commentary that’s 100% in sync with the program, thanks to TVU’s auto-sync technology.
