TVU Networks introduces TVU One IP, a new all-IP transmitter designed for NDI, UVC and other IP-based sources, giving production teams a reliable way to send finished live programs without traditional SDI infrastructure....
TVU Networks has introduced TVU Cortex, a new content platform built to help distributed journalism organizations find, review, and access video faster. Using AI agents that continuously organize and cross-reference content across production systems, archives, and live feeds, Cortex gives journalists one place to search by subject rather than by file location, cutting the time spent hunting for footage so they can focus on telling the story.

CUPERTINO, Calif. — September 9, 2026 — TVU Networks today introduced TVU Cortex, a content platform that helps journalism organizations spend less time hunting for video and more time telling stories.
News organizations are producing more content than ever, often across dozens or hundreds of locations. That content typically sits in separate production systems, archives, live feeds and local workflows — and even when every site runs the same technology, a journalist in one market often has no practical way to find what a colleague shot in another.
A major news organization with roughly 200 local stations nationwide described the problem to TVU this way: “50% of our time is spent trying to identify and access local stories so that we can use the content. Today, that’s a tedious, antiquated process of logging in, identifying, browsing and ultimately accessing content.”
Cortex removes those steps. It presents everything an organization has through a single visual interface, where journalists can browse video, organize it by subject, geography, politics, sports, see important stories elevated, follow topics through customizable content shelves, set alerts, review assignments and planning information, and pull live or recorded sources instantly. The goal: make distributed content feel like one newsroom.
“Journalists should spend their time deciding what matters when telling the story, not figuring out which system has the video or who they need to call to get it,” said Paul Shen, CEO of TVU Networks. “Cortex is designed to give that time back.“
Traditional media asset management was an enormous step forward from the days when archived video lived on physical tape. But it still depends on where a file was stored, how it was described and whether anyone entered useful metadata when it was created. Across a large organization, that leaves valuable material effectively invisible and a lot of people coordinating manually across systems and locations.
Cortex takes a different approach. Behind the interface, AI agents work continuously monitoring what comes in, enriching and cross-referencing the information attached to it, and keeping it organized, so journalists can find material by what it is about rather than by how it happened to be labeled. Those same agents handle much of the routine work of retrieving and delivering content once it is found. Cortex works alongside existing media and newsroom systems rather than requiring organizations to replace them.
The platform is built on TVU MediaMesh, TVU’s software-defined media platform for acquiring, processing and delivering professional video and audio across cloud, on-premises and distributed environments.
TVU is developing Cortex in collaboration with major news organizations whose workflows helped identify the problem and continue to shape the product.
