BNC Successfully Broadcasts 18-Hour Election Coverage Using Innovative Combination of TVU Solutions
View Related ProductsWhen over 57 million Filipinos cast ballots in the crucial midterm elections, Bilyonaryo News Channel (BNC) successfully delivered uninterrupted 18-hour coverage across Philippine’s thousands of scattered islands using TVU’s integrated broadcasting solution.
The challenge was unprecedented. “Traditional satellite trucks would have cost us millions and taken weeks to deploy,” said Engr. Jun Maltu, BNC’s Head of Engineering Department. “We needed technology that could handle the Philippines’ unique geography while maintaining broadcast quality.”
BNC, the country’s premier financial news network under Prage Management Corporation, faced a critical decision. The elections—featuring races for 317 House seats, 12 Senate positions, and over 18,000 local offices—were considered a key indicator for the 2028 presidential race, demanding comprehensive coverage despite logistical nightmares.
TVU’s solutions combined professional hardware with innovative mobile technology. BNC deployed 13 TVU One backpacks at polling stations and counting centers in Manila, Cebu, and Davao, while equipping thousands of journalists with TVU Anywhere smartphone applications for broader reach.
“The beauty lies in our multi-network aggregation,” explained Jay Teodoro, BD Manager for TVU Networks SEA. “Our IS+ protocol intelligently combines 4G/5G, Wi-Fi,ethernet, and satellite connections simultaneously. Even in remote areas with poor infrastructure, we maintained stable, high-quality transmission.”
The system underwent its ultimate test from 5 AM voting start through late-night result announcements. All equipment maintained stable operation, transmitting HD video feeds to BNC’s Manila studio, where production teams managed thousands of simultaneous feeds for broadcast across television, online platforms, and social media.
The smartphone application proved particularly revolutionary. Through dual-link aggregation and H.265 encoding, ordinary phones became professional broadcasting devices. “This democratized our coverage capability,” noted BNC. “Journalists could broadcast professionally using just mobile networks.”
Results validated the approach. BNC achieved unprecedented geographic coverage while controlling costs significantly below traditional satellite solutions. The network’s comprehensive election reporting reached viewers across major cities through BEAM TV digital terrestrial broadcasting and Cignal platforms.
TVU, with 20 years of live transmission expertise supporting major global events, continues advancing broadcast technology. “This successful deployment demonstrates how integrated solutions can transform news gathering,” said Jay. “We’re enabling media organizations to maintain competitive advantages while delivering superior audience experiences.”
Additionally, this achievement was made possible through a strong partnership between TVU Networks and CrowDigital Solutions Corporation. CrowD played a critical role in building and facilitating this collaboration, ultimately securing a key partnership with Bilyonaryo News Channel (BNC), one of the country’s leading news platforms.
Special recognition goes to CrowDigital’s leadership, with CEO Michael Javier and Sales Manager Kristoffer Neil Magno at the helm of the project. Their efforts and strategic direction were instrumental in the successful integration of TVU technology with BNC’s election coverage operations.
This initiative marks a milestone in the use of advanced broadcasting solutions in the Philippines and sets a precedent for future media technology deployments in the region.
