Invisible forensic watermarks help broadcasters and rights holders detect unauthorized restreams, trace leaks and take action during live events.

The joint solution brings invisible forensic watermarking, automated piracy detection, source attribution and enforcement directly into live MediaMesh workflows, enabling broadcasters, sports leagues, rights holders and live event producers to protect premium video as it moves through contribution, distribution and viewing, without changes to their existing broadcast infrastructure.
Unauthorized restreams divert audiences and undermine the subscription, advertising and licensing revenue that live rights depend on, often while the event is still underway. When finding a pirated stream, identifying where it came from and taking action are handled as separate processes, the commercial window that gives live content its value has frequently closed before enforcement can make a difference.
Cyclops by Redflag AI is a content protection platform combining forensic watermarking, automated piracy detection, source attribution and enforcement for live and on-demand video. Redflag pairs the platform with managed piracy monitoring and enforcement services, scoped per event or as an ongoing service, giving customers discovery, watermarking, attribution and enforcement in one operational workflow, with evidence and results in a single platform.
Within TVU MediaMesh, the scalable, cloud-first IP video routing and orchestration platform, Cyclops runs as a processing container connected via SRT. Live feeds from sports, broadcast and premium events are routed through MediaMesh to the Cyclops container, which embeds an invisible forensic watermark and returns a watermarked SRT output. The protected feed then continues to broadcast, OTT and delivery partners through MediaMesh routing and transport. If content is leaked, Redflag monitors web, social and IPTV sources for restreams, decodes recovered watermarks to identify the protected feed, distributor or session responsible and supports takedowns and search delisting.
The joint solution addresses a range of content protection scenarios. Sports leagues and rights holders can monitor for unauthorized restreams and take action during an event’s commercial window. Broadcasters and distributors can mark individual outputs with distinct identifiers to pinpoint which distribution path is leaking, and where integrated, OTT services can apply session-specific watermarking to trace unauthorized sharing back to the originating session. Entertainment content owners can also detect unauthorized re-uploads and pursue removal long after the original broadcast or release.
Because Cyclops integrates as a container within TVU MediaMesh and connects with customers’ existing delivery and access systems, content protection becomes part of the live workflow rather than a separate system bolted on afterward. Customers can add forensic watermarking to the feeds that matter most, scale protection up for marquee events and move from detecting an unauthorized stream to identifying its source and acting on it while the event’s audience and revenue are still at stake.
“Piracy is a live problem, and it needs a live answer,” said John Wastcoat, Senior Director of Business Development, TVU Networks. “By running Cyclops directly inside MediaMesh, we’re giving broadcasters and rights holders forensic watermarking that fits the workflows they already run. Protection is applied as the feed moves through MediaMesh, so customers can trace a leak to its source and act on it during the event, not after the fact.”
“Finding a pirated stream is only half the job. You also need to know where it came from and be able to shut it down while it still matters,” said Max Eisendrath, CEO, Redflag AI. “Integrating Cyclops with TVU MediaMesh puts forensic watermarking at the heart of the live workflow, and combined with our managed monitoring and enforcement services, it gives rights holders a complete path from protection to detection to takedown.”
