On June 21, 2025, the 107th National High School Baseball Championship Gifu Prefecture Qualifier draw ceremony was held in Gifu City. A total of 63 high school baseball teams from across the prefecture gathered to compete for the prestigious opportunity to represent Gifu at the renowned Koshien national tournament. This highly anticipated draw ceremony determined the crucial matchups while capturing the hearts of countless local baseball fans.

As a leading regional broadcaster deeply rooted in the Gifu area, Cable TV Chubu Network (CCN) has always remained committed to serving its local audience. To enable more fans to witness this exciting moment in real time, CCN meticulously planned a comprehensive live broadcast of the draw ceremony—aiming to deliver the intense atmosphere and youthful energy directly to every viewer.

CCN deployed its outside broadcast truck to the ceremony venue, rapidly establishing a sophisticated multi-camera production system. All live camera feeds were switched in real time via the on-site production console. The main program feed was then transmitted back using TVU One cellular transmission equipment in dual-path redundancy mode, ensuring secure and error-free signal delivery.

At CCN’s headquarters, a TVU Transceiver server received the returning signal and decoded it into standard SDI output. The studio production team then added real-time captions, professional commentary, and polished on-air graphics packaging before routing the enhanced content into the broadcast infrastructure. This enabled simultaneous distribution across both TV channels and online platforms.

Despite the challenging on-site environment with heavy crowd presence and fluctuating network bandwidth, TVU One leveraged its patented IS+ multi-network aggregation technology. By intelligently bonding multiple 5G/4G mobile connections with advanced load balancing and dynamic bandwidth allocation, the system maintained remarkably stable transmission links. Combined with HEVC smart VBR encoding, forward error correction (FEC), and other video optimization technologies, the live feed was delivered with zero frame loss and zero interruptions.

“This deployment perfectly demonstrates how innovative transmission technology transforms regional broadcasting capabilities,” said Tim Thorsteinson, Vice President of Sales for TVU Networks APAC region. “CCN’s success showcases our commitment to empowering local broadcasters with enterprise-grade solutions that deliver professional results while maintaining cost efficiency. This is exactly the kind of community-focused broadcasting excellence that drives our development across Asia-Pacific.”

Compared with traditional satellite or leased line transmission, TVU One’s public internet-based workflow drastically reduced operational costs while maintaining broadcast-grade reliability. This significant economic advantage allowed CCN to produce the event with enhanced flexibility and expanded scale, without sacrificing quality standards. The cost-effective approach enabled strategic resource allocation toward richer production values, ultimately benefiting viewers through more engaging broadcast content.
