CUPERTINO, Calif., Jan. 06, 2026 — TVU’s cloud-based production solution has received the “Outstanding Application Case” award from the China Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (CSMPTE) Broadcasting Technology Committee, recognizing breakthrough performance in collaborative cloud production and lightweight deployment.

The award-winning project—a joint BIRTV & CSMPTE live broadcast—completed 19 themed broadcasts over two intensive days during BIRTV 2025’s “Visual Excellence, Intelligent Future” series on July 23-24, 2025. Operating in a challenging exhibition environment with dense crowds and network instability, the team delivered 13 hours of continuous broadcasting across multiple formats.

Technical Achievement in Complex Conditions

The production integrated eight heterogeneous signal sources while simultaneously outputting four distribution streams in different formats. Despite scattered sources, frequent transitions, and electromagnetic interference, the system maintained stable output throughout.

CSMPTE’s evaluation committee reviewed 99 application cases from television stations and content production companies. The cases covered ceremonies, news, sports, and variety programming, with TVU’s solution standing out for establishing a scalable, replicable remote production model.

Cloud-Native Production Architecture

TVU Producer, the company’s cloud-based production switcher, served as the system’s core platform. The “minimal on-site, maximum cloud” architecture centralized switching, graphics integration, content playback, recording, and multi-platform distribution in the cloud. This reduced on-site equipment complexity while boosting production efficiency.

The deployment showcased three key innovations:

  • Reliable Mobile Transmission: TVU One mobile transmitters leveraged ISX multi-network bonding technology to ensure high-quality signal backhaul despite public network instability. The technology enabled real-time collaboration across geographically distributed teams.
  • Production Security: Multi-tier backup and emergency switching mechanisms addressed extended broadcast requirements. The system supported both cloud-based hot standby and dynamic architecture degradation, significantly enhancing resilience.
  • Validated Scalability: The implementation demonstrated TVU’s capabilities in multi-camera remote production, cross-regional collaboration, and elastic system scaling—providing a practical reference for industry remote production innovation.

Beyond the Award

This recognition validates TVU’s technical approach and the project’s practical value in demanding broadcast environments. The solution demonstrates how cloud production can deliver professional-grade results while simplifying deployment in complex scenarios.

TVU continues developing cloud collaboration tools, transmission technologies, and flexible deployment solutions to support media broadcasting innovation and operational convergence.
