Cupertino, CA – March 10, 2025 –From March 5 to 11, 2025, China’s annual Two Sessions gathered nearly 3,000 National People’s Congress delegates and over 2,000 Political Consultative Conference members in Beijing to shape the nation’s future. As a key political event, the Two Sessions challenge media innovation and reporting capabilities. SMG, a leading Chinese media organization, has consistently delivered comprehensive coverage to meet public demand for information on national affairs.

To tackle the technical demands, SMG again selected TVU’s solutions for on-site reporting. After analyzing requirements, SMG deployed TVU One live backpacks and TVU Rack Router multi-network aggregation routers, creating a complete technical chain for interviews, transmission, and on-site production. This lightweight, user-friendly setup with stable performance enhanced SMG’s news production efficiency.

SMG deployed equipment strategically across different interview scenarios. At the National People’s Congress venue and during group interviews, journalists primarily used the TVU One live backpack. Weighing just 1.5 kilograms, this compact device allowed reporters to quickly capture and transmit high-quality video signals to the editing center in real-time.

During impromptu delegate interviews and breaking news, the TVU One’s flexibility proved crucial. Using Inverse StatMux Plus (IS+) multi-network aggregation and HEVC intelligent VBR encoding, it integrates 4G/5G/Wi-Fi networks to ensure stable transmission even in crowded, network-congested environments.

At fixed reporting locations, SMG implemented the TVU Rack Router as the core network device. This router accesses multiple 5G networks while integrating Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections, providing stable internet access for all on-site equipment. With IS+ technology, it maintains bandwidth stability during network fluctuations, while the TVU Router Center platform enables real-time monitoring and optimization.

As SMG’s strategic partner for eight consecutive years, TVU has consistently supported Two Sessions coverage. This year’s implementation of TVU One and TVU Rack Router not only enhanced production efficiency but also streamlined reporting, allowing journalists to focus on content creation. Looking ahead, TVU plans to introduce cloud-based broadcasting and AI-assisted editing to further optimize reporting for major events, aiming to create richer, more timely experiences for audiences following national events.
