Victoria, Seychelles, September 3, 2025The Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC), the national broadcaster of the Seychelles, faced one of its most ambitious challenges yet: delivering full live coverage of the Indian Ocean Youth & Sports Commission (CJSOI) Games, a biennial event showcasing 14–17-year-old athletes from across the Indian Ocean islands.

With competitions spread across multiple venues, tight deadlines, and a lean crew, SBC needed a way to deliver world-class coverage even in venues with limited infrastructure. For them, this was not just about covering a sporting event. It was about proving that they could innovate under pressure and compete at the highest level.

That’s when they partnered with TVU Networks.

Instead of relying on traditional, hardware-heavy setups, SBC adopted a flexible, cloud-based workflow. TVU’s RPS One became the backbone of their connectivity, sending broadcast-quality, multi-camera feeds from multiple venues straight to the cloud, overcoming the island’s infrastructure limitations on some of the events. With TVU Producer, the team could manage production remotely, switching between sports and venues without having to physically move equipment, while TVU Partyline kept crews connected in real time across locations.

In just five days of training, the transformation was complete and SBC was live.

“Once we saw the workflow in action, we knew there was no going back,” said Menjel Kilindo, Senior Broadcast and Enterprise Technology Officer at SBC. “We were able to cover more, deliver faster, and reduce costs, all without sacrificing quality, something we didn’t think was possible before”

The results spoke for themselves. Audiences across Seychelles and beyond saw moments from the high-energy boxing matches to the emotion of the medal ceremonies, delivered live, in high quality, without the limitations of older systems. And for the SBC team, the production was not just smooth, it was empowering.

“This is what transformation looks like,” said Dheshnie Naidoo, TVU’s Regional Director for Africa. “SBC moved fast, trusted their team, and embraced change. They showed that innovation is possible anywhere, if you have the vision and the right partner.”

But the story does not end with the Ocean Youth & Sports Commission (CJSOI) Games: The same workflow will now power SBC’s cultural coverage, music shows, live news reporting and official events. SBC is already exploring how more TVU solutions can further enhance their operations, expanding their reach and creativity without increasing costs, including future integration of tools such as TVU RPS Link and TVU Anywhere.

What happened in Seychelles is a glimpse of the future for broadcasters everywhere: you don’t need massive budgets or fleets of trucks to deliver exceptional live coverage. You need the courage to reimagine your workflow, and a partner who can make it happen, fast.

SBC took that leap. TVU was there to catch it. Together, they set a new standard for broadcasting in Africa and beyond.
