AiFi integration transforms viewers’ existing phones, tablets and speakers into a synchronized
surround-sound system with no additional hardware.
CUPERTINO, CA—October 1, 2026 — TVU Networks, the global leader in cloud and IP-based live video solutions, and Sound Dimension, developer of the patented AiFi audio synchronization platform, today announced a partnership and integration of AiFi with TVU MediaMesh®. The combined solution enables broadcasters, streaming platforms and content providers to deliver synchronized, immersive surround sound directly to the smartphones, tablets and speakers audiences already own, without requiring additional hardware.
As streaming video quality has advanced, the viewing experience has increasingly moved beyond the traditional television screen, but audio has largely remained tied to a single device. The integration of AiFi with TVU MediaMesh changes that model by allowing multiple devices in the same room to operate together as one synchronized audio environment.
AiFi is a software-only audio synchronization platform that turns nearby consumer devices into a shared surround-sound system. Through its iOS and Android SDK, AiFi synchronizes phones, tablets and speakers with sub-10 ms precision, enabling audiences to experience immersive audio using devices already in the room.
TVU MediaMesh provides the cloud-native live media infrastructure that connects AiFi with live and on-demand video workflows. Live feeds are ingested into MediaMesh while preserving standard HLS timing information, then delivered through the platform’s application to the viewer. AiFi uses the stream’s audio as its source and synchronizes participating devices into a unified audio experience in real time.
The integrated offering enables broadcasters and streaming services to add immersive shared audio without introducing dedicated consumer hardware or fundamentally changing existing delivery workflows. A viewer can begin watching on a primary screen while other phones, tablets and speakers in the room join the session and become part of the synchronized sound system.
Beyond shared surround sound, the integration opens additional possibilities for personalized and interactive viewing experiences. AiFi Clear Voice can provide an individual viewer with a dialogue-forward audio track at a personally controlled volume, while AiFi Lingo allows different viewers in the same room to hear content in their preferred languages. For sports and multiview applications, AiFi Multiview allows viewers to select which feed they hear on their own device, even when several events are displayed simultaneously.
The platform can also extend the viewing experience to synchronized second-screen applications. Because each participating device is aware of the viewing session, streaming services can deliver contextually relevant content and commerce experiences to individual devices without interrupting the primary program.
“AiFi changes how we think about the last few feet of content delivery,” said John Wastcoat, Senior Director of Business Development, TVU Networks. “MediaMesh already delivers live content anywhere in the world. With AiFi, that experience extends beyond the screen to every compatible device in the room, so broadcasters and streaming platforms can deliver immersive, shared audio without new viewer hardware or changes to their production workflow.”
“Television has always been at its best when it brings people together, and we believe streaming should do the same,” said Rickard Riblom, CEO, Sound Dimension. “With AiFi and TVU MediaMesh, the devices people already have in their hands become part of the experience, transforming a single stream into synchronized, immersive sound that everyone in the room can share. Together, we’re giving broadcasters and streaming platforms a software-only way to create a more engaging viewing experience while opening entirely new opportunities for accessibility, personalization and audience growth.”
