View Related ProductsCUPERTINO, Calif., Dec. 3, 2025 –For the fifth consecutive year, TVU Solutions’ cellular bonding technology enabled seamless live coverage of the Shanghai Marathon. On November 30, over 23,000 runners from around the globe competed in the World Athletics Platinum Label race, starting from the Bund’s Golden Bull Square.
SMG’s globally renowned sports broadcasting team once again deployed TVU One cellular bonding backpacks—portable devices that combine multiple cellular networks—as the core transmission solution. The production team strategically positioned 20 TVU One units at critical locations along the 42-kilometer course, achieving comprehensive coverage of key moments including the starting area, motorcycle tracking shots, aerial footage, on-site interviews, the finish line sprint, and the awards ceremony.
Throughout the broadcast, the director’s team collaborated seamlessly with camera operators using TVU’s integrated VoIP two-way communication and tally functions. At the production center, the TVU transceiver server received and reconstructed all incoming signals in real time. Following professional post-production—including camera switching, graphics overlays, and commentary—the finalized content was simultaneously delivered to television channels including Dragon TV and Star Sports, as well as new media platforms such as Douyin, Bilibili, and Kankanews. The signal also reached channels and platforms across multiple countries worldwide, enhancing the international profile of the Shanghai Marathon.
During the four-hour broadcast, TVU One units faced complex mobile network conditions, including congestion from thousands of spectators’ smartphones and Shanghai’s challenging urban environment. Despite these obstacles, the system demonstrated exceptional stability. Leveraging TVU’s next-generation ISX multi-network bonding protocol and advanced video processing technology, TVU One achieved zero transmission failures across 20 simultaneous feeds, delivering broadcast-quality HD streams throughout the event.
This marks the fifth consecutive year TVU has provided transmission solutions for SMG’s Shanghai Marathon broadcast—a partnership reflecting deep mutual trust and continuous innovation in sports event production. The collaboration demonstrates both organizations’ commitment to broadcast excellence and positions cellular bonding technology as an indispensable tool for modern sports broadcasting, delivering professional-grade results with unprecedented flexibility and mobility.
