CUPERTINO, Calif., Nov. 4, 2025 — TVU Networks, a global leader in cloud and IP-based live video solutions, today announced the successful deployment of its integrated mobile live streaming and cloud transmission technology for the 28th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Meeting held in Gyeongju, South Korea, from October 27 to November 1, 2025.
The summit brought together heads of state and delegations from 21 member economies for high-level dialogues on Asia-Pacific regional cooperation, economic growth, digital innovation, and sustainable development. The most closely watched events occurred on October 30, when bilateral meetings between world leaders—including the highly anticipated U.S.–China and U.S.–South Korea summits—featured in-depth exchanges on bilateral relations, regional cooperation, and pressing global issues.
Major media organizations across continents deployed TVU solutions for real-time live broadcasts of the summit. Leading broadcasters from Japan, France, the United States, China, the UAE, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Canada relied on TVU technology to deliver coverage to global audiences. The international signal was distributed in real-time to major news organizations.
KBS Deploys TVU Solutions for International Signal Distribution
As the host broadcaster, Korea Broadcasting System (KBS) was fully responsible for international signal production and global distribution throughout the summit. KBS signals were simultaneously transmitted to 12 domestic television stations in South Korea and 16 overseas broadcasters. To meet these requirements, KBS deployed over 50 camera positions throughout the venue, providing round-the-clock coverage of bilateral and multilateral meetings, press conferences, and other summit activities.
As a long-term technology partner of KBS, TVU was selected to provide comprehensive live broadcast technical support for the summit. The deployment addressed complex broadcasting requirements through multi-camera real-time acquisition and a global distribution network.
                                                TVU One Enables Mobile Acquisition
The TVU One live backpack served as the core acquisition solution for the summit. These portable units were deployed at leader arrival points, main conference venues, media centers, and landmark areas throughout Gyeongju for real-time on-site video acquisition and transmission.
Through TVU’s patented multi-link aggregation technology, TVU One transmitted high-quality video and audio signals in complex environments, ensuring footage reached the master control center. The solution is adapted to signal transmission needs across all broadcast scenarios, whether in indoor conference halls or outdoor activity areas, with fixed or mobile camera positions.
Cloud-Based Distribution Network Delivers Global Reach
All on-site signals were transmitted through the TVU cloud platform and aggregated into the KBS master control system. Subsequently, these signals were delivered to international media via stream transmission through AWS, creating a distribution network that spanned continents.
The system’s strength lies in three key technical pillars:
Reliability: TVU’s low-latency, high-quality transmission architecture, based on multi-network aggregation and advanced video processing technology, ensured reliable signal delivery. The TVU cloud platform monitored all signal statuses in real-time, enabling the technical team to remotely control equipment and address potential issues.
Compatibility: Flexible processing capabilities support multiple protocol standards—including SRT, RTMP, and SDI—accommodating different access methods for media organizations from various countries without requiring format conversions that might introduce delay or quality degradation.
Security: End-to-end encrypted signal transmission combined with advanced permission systems prevented unauthorized access and ensured secure signal delivery. Only authorized broadcasters with proper credentials could access the live feeds.
Enabling Global Synchronized Coverage
The deployment enabled audiences across time zones to witness historic diplomatic moments simultaneously. From the Gyeongju conference venue to screens worldwide, TVU technology provided the broadcast infrastructure that made real-time global coverage of the APEC summit possible.
The APEC 2025 Summit deployment demonstrates TVU’s capabilities in supporting large-scale international events requiring simultaneous distribution to multiple broadcasters across different regions and technical standards.
