TVU Home overview

Note: This User Guide supports the TVU Home version v1.0.104 and above.

TVU Home is a user-facing platform that anyone with TVU credentials can sign in to and use. The Home landing page enables users to access services, recent objects (e.g., TVU services), and status. Users with owner roles can set up and manage user groups and subgroups on the management dashboard. TVU Services and user roles can be assigned, managed, and monitored from this dashboard.

Users sign in to the TVU Home landing page and click the Manage > Members tab. They then navigate to their management dashboard to view all members assigned to their group or subgroup and have full editing rights to their own user information.

User role types

This version of TVU Home allows users to familiarize themselves with the platform and explore basic features, controls, and functions across the following four user role types.

Owner

The owner has administrative access to the members and groups they set up. Owners can set up user-level and sub-level groups, invite members, assign member roles, manage permissions, and monitor user-level TVU account content by group assignment. Tokens can be purchased, and token usage can be monitored from the management dashboard’s Billing tab.

Member

Within the Group workspace, a Member can view users and their assigned roles. Each group member can change their avatar (profile image), reset their password, and view which TVU services are assigned to them. In addition, the group member can quit at any time if desired.

Admin

The Admin role only has administrative access to Member users and the groups they set up.

Admin users can set up user-level and sub-level groups, invite members, assign member roles, manage permissions, and monitor user-level TVU account content by group assignment. As an Admin, you can add or remove users from your group, entitle a service, or revoke a user’s service from their management dashboard.

Finance

Finance users have only administrative rights to their accounts; they are not part of any other group. Tokens can be purchased, and token usage can be monitored from the Home management dashboard Billing tab.

TVU Home features

• TVU Home page – The TVU Home landing page provides direct access to recent services, such as TVU Producer, Partyline, Commentator, TVU Channel, and TVU Search without logging in to each service. The Recent Objects panel displays the user’s account activity directly from the Home landing page.
• TVU Services navigation – Users can click the TVU Services navigation (waffle) icon to quickly open a service that is not currently displayed in the Recent Services section on the Home landing page.
• Manage tab – The Manage tab has four sub-tabs:

Note: Sub-tabs that display are dependent on the users role assignment. Refer to the respective Quick Start chapter for more information.

• Members tab: The Members tab opens the Group management dashboard and displays controls based on the Owner, Member, Admin, or Finance user role type. For example, an Owner’s management dashboard will display different controls than the Member’s dashboard.
• Usage tab: Users can view their hourly usage history by date, product, and service name.
• Resources tab: The Resources tab enables Agent device management, box pool folder set-up and configuration, and Agent software installation for authorized roles.
• Billing tab: Accessible to owners and finance users. TVU Home enables account owners and finance users to manage their TVU Token purchases, usage, and balances.

System requirements

Compatibility:

• iPad – Requires iPadOS 12.0 or later.
• Mac – Requires macOS 12.0 or later.
• Windows 8 and higher (Chrome browser)

Getting started

Any TVU account holder has free access to TVU Home. This Quick Start User Guide includes a section for each user role type, explaining their respective management dashboard interface features and controls.

Note: Setting up Agent resources is the only paid feature in TVU Home.

TVU Home Quick Start Guide – Owner role

Signing in to TVU Home

There are two methods an account “Owner” can use to sign in to TVU Home:

• If you are signed in to a TVU service, click the Services (waffle) icon and select Home in the menu.
• Open a web browser and enter: https://home.tvunetworks.com

The Home login page will display.

Sign in with your account credentials:

1. Enter your email and password.
2. Click Sign in.

TVU Home – Landing page

The Welcome to TVU Home landing page is displayed when you successfully sign in to TVU Home.

The Home landing page for the owner role includes:

• TVU Home page: The TVU Home landing page provides direct access to recent services, including TVU Producer, Partyline, Commentator, TVU Channel, and TVU Search, without logging in to each service. The Recent Objects panel displays the user’s account activity directly from the Home landing page.
• TVU Services navigation: Users can click the TVU Services navigation (waffle) icon to quickly open a service that is not currently displayed in the Recent Services section on the Home landing page.
• Manage tab: Members and owners can use this tab as their primary tool for member and owner-related tasks. Click the Manage tab to access the Members, Resources, Usage, and Billing tabs.
• Members tab: The Members tab opens the Group management dashboard and displays controls based on the Owner user role type.
• Usage tab: Users can view their hourly usage history by date, product, and service name.
• Resources tab: The Resources tab enables Agent device management, box pool folder set-up and configuration, and Agent software installation for authorized roles. A box pool folder can store multiple boxes, each of which is a physical device on which you have installed the Agent software.
• Billing tab: Accessible to owners and finance users. TVU Home enables account owners and finance users to manage their TVU Token purchases, usage, and balances.

Dashboard interface – Owner controls

Account owners have administrative rights to their members’ accounts. Account owners can:

• Manage a group and a subgroup workspace
• View Usage time, storage status, and router usage.
• Add users and sub-users
• Add resources and services
• Invite new members
• Assign roles to each member
• Add members to other subgroups
• Delete or disable a member’s access
• Authorize, manage, and monitor a member’s TVU services
• Purchase tokens
• Add Agent devices to Cloud services

Members tab controls

The Members tab opens the Group management page. When you sign in as an account owner, you can manage your members on the Group page by clicking the Manage > Members tab.

Note: A group can have multiple owners.

The Members tab allows you to:

• Edit your Group Name and add group information
• Add a new user
• Add a profile picture (avatar)
• Add subgroup workspaces
• Add an email domain to your group
• Assign roles to sub-users
• Manage all aspects of your group

Updating your Group information

To update your Group information:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.

2. The Group management dashboard will display.

3. Click the edit icon below the Group name.

4. The Edit Group Information page opens.
5. Enter a Group Name and page Description.

6. To update your Profile picture, hover your mouse over the picture and click the Edit icon.

7. The Add Profile Picture pop-up will display.

8. Drag or Upload a 1:1 image in png, gif, or jpeg format.
9. Click the green check mark to save your Avatar picture.

10. Click the green Confirm button.
11. Scroll down to the Authorized Services panel and select the Optional Services that apply or disable services.

12. Click the green Confirm button.

Creating a subgroup

When you create a subgroup, it becomes part of your group workspace. You can invite group members as sub-users into this workspace and assign roles to each user.

To create a subgroup:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.
2. Hover your mouse over Subgroup, then click the Plus.

3. The Create a subgroup window will display.
4. Enter a subgroup name, your email domain name (if you want to assign a domain to the subgroup), and a description of your subgroup (optional).

5. Click Confirm.
6. The new subgroup is displayed under your Group name.

7. To configure and manage Subgroups, click a Subgroup in the left panel to open the Subgroup page.
8. You can now invite users to your group and assign them to subgroups.

Adding yourself to a subgroup

To add yourself to a subgroup:

1. Select your Group Name in the left panel.

2. Highlight (You) in the user list.
3. Click the three-dot icon in the Operation column.

4. Click Add to other subgroup.

5. The Add to subgroups window will display.

6. Click the subgroup checkbox desired, then the Confirm button.

Inviting users to your group

After you have created your subgroups, you can invite users to your group and subgroups.

Note: The invitation procedure only accepts users with an active TVU account.

To invite a user to your group:

1. Click to highlight your Group Name.

2. Click the Invite button.

3. The Invite window will display.
4. Enter the user’s Email address you want to invite to your group, then click Send Invitation.

5. The dashboard will display the invited user and a “Pending Invitation” notification in the dashboard status column until the invitation is accepted.
6. The owner can cancel the invitation by clicking the green Cancel Invitation in the Operation column.

7. The invited user receives an email to accept the invitation. After accepting the invitation, the TVU Home page will open. The new user clicks the Bell icon at the top-right of the page to complete the process, then clicks the Join or Ignore button.

After joining the group, the user’s name is displayed in the user list. Users can click the edit icon on the Groups page to edit their user information.

Note: The group owner receives a Bell icon notification when the user has joined the group.

Adding a role to the new user

Owners can assign a Member or Admin role to a new user. The Admin role allows co-admin rights, whereas the Member role does not.

To add a role to the new user: click the user’s Role drop-down menu and select Admin or Member.

1. Click Manage > Members tab and highlight your group name.
2. The new member appears in the Group list on the Manage page.

3. Click the user’s Role drop-down menu and select Admin or Member.

Note: Choosing Admin allows the user administrative rights.

Adding members to other subgroups

To add a user to a subgroup:

1. Click the three-dot icon and select Add to other subgroup.

2. Select the Subgroup checkbox in the Add to Subgroup window, then click Confirm.

Editing a member’s access

To edit and manage a Subgroup member’s access:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab and locate the member’s name. Click the Edit icon in the Operation column.

2. The Edit User Information window will display.

3. Configure the Subuser’s information, then click Confirm.
4. When finished, click ‹— Edit User Information at the top of the page to return to the Subgroup page.
5. To remove a Subgroup member, click the three-dot icon and select Remove from subgroup.

Deleting or disabling a member’s access

To delete or disable a user in a group:

1. Click the three-dot icon and select Disable or Delete member from the menu.

2. If you need to batch Enable or Disable a group of users, select each user’s checkbox and click the Disable or Enable button.

Authorizing, managing, and monitoring a member’s services

As a group owner, you can authorize access to services and manage group and subgroup users from the Manage > Members tab. Users and their activity are easily monitored and sorted, and can be exported to Excel by clicking the Export button.

Usage tab

The Usage tab displays the Usage time overview.

1. Click the Manage > Usage tab.

2. Click View More for detailed information.
3. Hover over the charts for more information.

Resources tab

The Resources tab allows users to manage an Agent device, set up and configure a box pool folder, and install Agent software.

Note: A box pool folder can store multiple boxes, each of which is a physical device where the user has installed the Agent software.

The Resources tab allows Agent software to be installed on a device. The Agent integrates with MediaHub instead of using cloud-based resources. The agent can be installed on a user’s resource to run programs.

Adding resources and services

The Resources tab is where Owners can create Box pool folders and view, add, configure, and manage Agent devices.

To add resources and services:

1. Click the Manage > Resources tab.
2. The Manage page opens and displays Resources.

3. To add a new box pool folder, click Box Pool +.

4. The Create a new box pool window will display.
5. Enter a Box Pool Name and click Confirm.

6. Your new box pool folder has been added to the Agent Devices list.
7. To delete a box pool, click the Delete button.
8. To rename the box pool, click the Edit button.

9. The Edit box pool window will display.
10. Enter a new box pool name and click Confirm.

Adding Agent devices to Cloud services

IMPORTANT: You can only select a device as BYOR in Mediahub after the Agent is successfully installed on it.

After your agent is fully installed, configure it by following these steps, then use it in MediaHub by selecting BYOR under Resources.

To download and install the Agent:

1. Click the Manage > Resources tab, then click the Installation Guide link.

2. The Agent installation guide pop-up window will display.

3. Review the Installation Quick Guide TVU Agent video tutorial.
4. Click the Copy script button and paste the script into your Linux Command line. Run the script to install the Agent on your device.
5. To obtain the Installation key, click the Copy key button.
6. To Reset the key and script, click the Reset Installation Key & Script button.

Port mapping

To map your box pool in TVU Home:

1. Click the Manage > Resources tab.
2. The Manage page opens, displaying your Agent Devices.
3. Click the Box pool that requires mapping.

4. Click the Box pool checkbox that requires mapping in the Box Pool.

5. Click the + Add button.

Billing tab

The billing tab allows owner users to:

• Set up a user billing group
• Purchase tokens
• Edit billing information
• Review token purchase history, consumption, and recent TVU Producer and MediaHub activity
• View the total remaining token balance
• View token transaction history
• View the token expiration date
• View Active commitments

User billing group set up

New users will set up their own Billing group when they initially purchase their tokens.

Note: Users must first sucessfully set up a Billing group to purchase tokens. Once the billing group is set up, users can access their Token management page to perform subsequent token related tasks.

To set up your user billing group:

1. Click the Manage > Billing tab.
2. The Token management page will display.

3. Click Buy More in the Purchases History panel.

4. The Billing info pop-up window will display.
5. Enter all required information, click Save, then continue to “Purchasing tokens.”

Editing your billing information

To edit your user billing information:

1. Click the Manage > Billing tab.
2. The Token management page will display.

3. Click the edit billing icon to edit your billing information before purchasing tokens.
4. Make your changes in the Billing group window and click Save.

Purchasing TVU Tokens

1. After setting up a user billing group, click Buy More in the Purchase History panel.
2. The purchase TVU Tokens pop-up window will appear.
3. User’s can purchase Tokens by credit card or > link.
4. Continue to one of the following purchasing methods:

Purchase TVU Tokens using a credit card

1. To purchase TVU Tokens by credit card, click the View details menu, select the quantity menu, and make a selection.
2. Click the Pay button and follow the prompts.

3. Your purchase appears in the Purchase History panel.

Purchase TVU Tokens using > link

1. To purchase by > link, click the View details menu, select the quantity menu, and make a selection.

2. Click the Pay with > link button.
3. The > link window appears. Review your purchase in the gray box.

Note: To create a > link account, click Sign up and follow the prompts.

4. Click the Continue to payment button, then follow the prompts.

5. Your purchase appears in the Purchase History panel.

Transferring tokens

Users can transfer tokens to pre-defined users. Token owners must contact TVU Support to configure token transfers.

To transfer tokens:

1. Click the Transfer Token icon at the top of the Token Management panel.

2. The Transfer Tokens window will display.
3. Enter the group payee account in the To field.
4. In the Transfer amount field, enter a token quantity.
5. Click the Confirm button.

TVU Home Quick Start Guide – Member role

Dashboard interface – Member controls

Group members have administrative rights to their own account.

A Member user can:

• View all users in their group and their status.
• Modify their profile picture (avatar), reset the password, and edit user information.
• View Usage time, storage status, and router usage.
• View authorized basic and optional TVU Services.
• Quit the group.
• View active and inactive Agent devices.
• Add and view active and inactive box pools.

Members tab controls

The Members tab opens the Group Management page. When you sign in as a member user, you can view your group’s members on the Group workspace page.

Note: A Member’s dashboard will display different controls than the Owner role.

The Members tab allows you to:

• Edit your user name
• Add or change your profile picture (avatar)
• Update your Email address
• Reset your Password
• View group member roles and status
• Quit the group

Updating your user information

To update your user information:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.

2. The Group management dashboard will display.

3. Click the edit icon in the Operation column.

4. The Edit User Information page opens.
5. Enter a User Name, update your Email, or reset your Password. You may add additional profile information by clicking More to expand the panel.

6. To update your Profile picture, hover your mouse over the picture and click the Edit icon.

7. The Add Profile Picture pop-up will display.

8. Drag or Upload a 1:1 image in png, gif, or jpeg format.
9. Click the green check mark to save your Avatar picture.

10. Click the green Confirm button.
11. Scroll down to the Authorized Services panel and select the Optional Services that apply as a member.

Quitting the group

As a Member user, you can quit the group.

To quit the Group:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.

2. Your Group management page will display.
3. Hover your mouse over the three-dot icon and click Quit the current group.

Search and filter displayed content

You can search by username and filter what is displayed by selecting a value in the Role and Status drop-down menus.

Resources tab

The Resources tab allows users to manage an Agent device, set up and configure a Box Pool folder, and install Agent software.

Note: A box pool folder can store multiple boxes, each of which is a physical device where the user has installed the Agent software.

The Resources tab allows Agent software to be installed on a device. The Agent integrates with MediaHub instead of using cloud-based resources. The agent can be installed on a user’s resource to run programs.

6. Your new Box Pool folder has been added to the Agent Devices list.
7. To delete a Box Pool, click the Delete button.
8. To rename the Box Pool, click the Edit button.

9. The Edit box pool window will display.
10. Enter a new Box Pool Name and click Confirm.

Adding Agent devices to Cloud services

IMPORTANT: You can only select a device as BYOR in Mediahub after the Agent is successfully installed on it.

After your agent is fully installed, you can configure it by performing the following steps and use it in MediaHub by selecting BYOR under Resources.

To download and install the Agent:

1. Click the Manage > Resources tab, then click the Installation Guide link.

2. The Agent installation guide pop-up window will display.

The Admin role has administrative rights to members’ accounts, similar to owners. However, admins can’t edit an Owner role.

Updating your Group information

To update your Group information:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.

2. The Group Management dashboard will display.

3. Click the edit icon below the Group name.

4. The Edit Group Information page opens.
5. Enter a Group Name and page Description.

6. To update your Profile picture, hover your mouse over the picture and click the Edit icon.

7. The Add Profile Picture pop-up will display.

Editing a user’s information

To edit a user’s information:

1. Select your Group Name in the left panel.

2. Highlight (a user) in the user list.
3. Click the edit icon in the Operation column.

4. The Edit User Information window opens.
5. Enter any required edits.

6. If you want to add the new user to an existing subgroup, click the Subgroup edit icon and select a subgroup.
7. Scroll down to the Authorized Services panel and select the Optional Services you want to assign to the user.

8. Click the green Confirm button.

Creating a subgroup

When you create a subgroup, it becomes part of your group workspace. You can invite group members as sub-users into this workspace and assign roles to each user.

To create a subgroup:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.
2. Hover your mouse over Group name, then click the Plus.

3. The Create a subgroup window will display.
4. Enter a subgroup name, your Email Domain Name (if you want to assign a domain to the subgroup), and a description of your subgroup (optional).

5. Click Confirm.
6. The new subgroup is displayed under your Group name.

7. To configure and manage Subgroups, click a Subgroup name in the left panel to open the Subgroup management page.
8. All Subgroups will display.

9. Click the Edit icon in the Operation column to edit and manage a Subgroup.

10. The Edit User Information window will display.
11. Configure the Subuser’s information, then click Confirm.
12. When finished, click ‹— Edit User Information at the top of the page to return to the Subgroup page.

Inviting users to your group

After you have created your subgroups, you can invite users to your group and subgroups.

Note: The invitation procedure only accepts users with an active TVU account.

Adding a role to the new user

Note: Choosing Admin allows the user administrative rights.

Adding members to other subgroups

To add a user to a subgroup:

1. Click the three-dot icon and select Add to other subgroup.

2. Select the Subgroup checkbox in the Add to Subgroup window, then click Confirm.

Removing a member from a subgroup

There are two methods to remove a member from a subgroup:

1. To remove a member from a Subgroup, locate the Member’s name, click the three-dots in the Operation column, then click Remove from subgroup.

2. To remove a member from a Subgroup, select the subgroup, click the checkbox next to the member’s name, and then click the red Remove button.

Deleting or disabling a member’s access

To delete or disable a member’s access:

1. Click the three-dot icon and select Disable or Delete member from the menu.

2. If you need to batch Enable or Disable a group of users, select each user’s checkbox and click the Disable or Enable button.

Authorizing, managing, and monitoring a member’s services

As a group Admin, you can authorize access to services and manage group and subgroup users from the Manage > Members tab. Users and their activity are easily monitored and sorted, and can be exported to Excel by clicking the Export button.

Usage tab

The Usage tab displays the Usage time overview.

1. Click the Manage > Usage tab. The Manage screen will display Usage options.

2. Click View More to display detailed information. Hover over the charts for more information.

Resources tab

The Resources tab allows users to manage an Agent device, set up and configure a Box Pool folder, and install Agent software.

Note: A Box Pool folder can store multiple boxes, each of which is a physical device where the user has installed the Agent software.

The Resources tab allows Agent software to be installed on a device. The Agent integrates with MediaHub instead of using cloud-based resources. The agent can be installed on a user’s resource to run programs.

Adding resources and services

The Resources tab is where Admins can create Box Pool folders and view, add, configure, and manage Agent devices.

To add resources and services:

1. Click the Manage > Resources tab.
2. The Manage page opens and displays Resources.

3. To add a new Box Pool folder, click Box Pool +.

4. The Create a new box pool window will display.
5. Enter a Box Pool Name and click Confirm.

6. Your new Box Pool folder has been added to the Agent Devices list.
7. To delete a Box Pool, click the Delete button.
8. To rename the Box Pool, click the Edit button.

9. The Edit box pool window will display.
10. Enter a new box pool name and click Confirm.

Adding Agent devices to Cloud services

IMPORTANT: You can only select a device as BYOR in Mediahub after the Agent is successfully installed on it.

After your agent is fully installed, configure it by following these steps, then use it in MediaHub by selecting BYOR under Resources.

To download and install the Agent:

1. Click the Manage > Resources tab, then click the Installation Guide link.

2. The Agent installation guide pop-up window will display.

3. Review the Installation Quick Guide TVU Agent video tutorial.
4. Click the Copy script button and paste the script into your Linux Command line. Run the script to install the Agent on your device.
5. To obtain the Installation key, click the Copy key button.
6. To reset the key and script, click the Reset Installation Key & Script button.

Port mapping

To map your box pool in TVU Home:

1. Click the Manage > Resources tab.
2. The Resources page opens.
3. Click the Box Pool that requires mapping.

4. Click the Box Pool checkbox that requires mapping in the Box Pool.

5. Click the + Add button.

TVU Home Quick Start Guide – Finance role

Signing in to TVU Home

There are two methods “Finance” can use to sign in to TVU Home:

• If you are signed in to a TVU service, click the Services (waffle) icon and select Home in the menu.
• Open a web browser and enter: https://home.tvunetworks.com

The Home login page will display.

Sign in with your account credentials:

1. Enter your email and password.
2. Click Sign in.

TVU Home – Landing page

The Welcome to TVU Home landing page is displayed when you successfully sign in to TVU Home.

The Home landing page for the admin role includes:

• TVU Home tab: The TVU Home landing page provides direct access to recent services, including TVU Producer, Partyline, Commentator, TVU Channel, and TVU Search without logging in to each service. The Recent Objects panel displays the user’s account activity directly from the Home landing page.
• TVU Services navigation: Users can click the TVU Services navigation (waffle) icon to quickly open a service that is not currently displayed in the Recent Services section on the Home landing page.
• Manage tab: Finance users can use this tab as their primary tool for finance – and owner-related tasks. Click the Manage tab to access the Members, Usage, Resources, and Billing tabs.
• Members tab: Opens the Group management dashboard and displays controls based on the Finance user role type.
• Usage tab: Users can view their hourly usage history by date, product, and service name.
• Resources tab: The Resources tab enables Agent device management, box pool folder set-up and configuration, and Agent software installation for authorized roles. A box pool folder can store multiple boxes, each of which is a physical device on which you have installed the Agent software.

Dashboard interface – Finance controls

Finance users only have administrative rights to their own account. They are not part of any other group.

Finance account users can:

• Edit your user name and add a description
• Add a profile picture (avatar)
• View usage time
• Purchase tokens
• Review token purchase history and recent TVU Product usage activity.
• View the total remaining token balance
• View token transaction history
• View the token expiration date
• View active commitments

Updating your workspace information

To update your Group information:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.

2. The Group Management dashboard will display.

3. Click the edit icon below the Group name.

4. The Edit User Information window opens.
5. Enter a User Name, update your Email, or reset your Password. You may add additional profile information by clicking More to expand the panel.

6. To update your Profile picture, hover your mouse over the picture and click the Edit icon.

7. The Add Profile Picture pop-up will display.

8. Drag or Upload a 1:1 image in png, gif, or jpeg format.
9. Click the green check mark to save your Avatar picture.

10. Click the green Confirm button.
11. Scroll down to the Authorized Services panel and select the Optional Services that apply to your role.

12. Click the green Confirm button.

Usage tab

The Usage tab displays the Usage time overview.

1. Click the Manage > Usage tab. The Usage window opens.

2. Click View More detailed information.
3. Hover over the charts for more information.

Resources tab

10. Enter a new Box Pool Name and click Confirm.

Adding Agent devices to Cloud services

IMPORTANT: You can only select a device as BYOR in Mediahub after the Agent is successfully installed on it.

After your agent is fully installed, you can configure it by performing the following steps and use it in MediaHub by selecting BYOR under Resources.

To download and install the Agent:

1. Click the Manage > Resources tab. Click Installation Guide.

2. The Agent installation guide pop-up window will display.

3. Review the Installation Quick Guide TVU Agent video tutorial.
4. Click the Copy script button and paste the script into your Linux Command line. Run the script to install the Agent on your device.
5. To obtain the Installation key, click the Copy key button.
6. Click the Reset Installation Key & Script button to reset the key and script.

Port mapping

To map your box pool in TVU Home:

1. Click the Manage > Resources tab.
2. The Manage page opens and displays Resources.
3. Click the Box Pool that requires mapping.

4. Click the Box Pool checkbox that requires mapping in the Box Pool.

5. Click the + Add button.

Billing tab

The billing tab allows finance users to:

• Set up a user billing group
• Purchase tokens
• Edit billing information
• Review token purchase history, consumption, and recent TVU Producer and MediaHub activity
• View the total remaining token balance
• View token transaction history
• View the token expiration date
• View Active commitments

User billing group set up

New users will set up their own Billing group when they initially purchase their tokens.

Note: Users must first sucessfully set up a Billing group to purchase tokens. Once the billing group is set up, users can access their Token management page to perform subsequent token related tasks.

To set up your user billing group:

1. Click the Manage > Billing tab.
2. The Token management page will display.

3. Click Buy More in the Purchases History panel.

4. The Billing info pop-up window will display.
5. Enter all required information, click Save, then continue to “Purchasing tokens.”

Editing your billing information

To edit your user billing information:

1. Click the Manage > Billing tab.
2. The Token management page will display.

3. Click the Edit billing info icon to edit your billing information before purchasing tokens.
4. Make your changes in the Billing group window and click Save.

Purchasing tokens

1. After setting up a user billing group, click Buy More in the Purchase History panel.
2. The purchase TVU Tokens pop-up window will appear.
3. User’s can purchase Tokens by credit card or > link.
4. Continue to one of the following purchasing methods:

Purchase by credit card

1. To purchase by credit card, click the View details menu, and then select the quantity menu and make a selection.
2. Click the Pay button and follow the prompts.

3. Your purchase appears in the Purchase History panel.

Purchase by > link

1. To purchase via the> link, click the View details menu, then select the quantity menu and make a selection.

2. Click the Pay with > link button.
3. The > link window appears. Review your purchase in the gray box.

Note: To create a > link account click Sign up and follow the prompts.

4. Click the Continue to payment button, then follow the prompts.

5. Your purchase appears in the Purchase History panel.

Transferring tokens

Users can transfer tokens to pre-defined users. Token owners must contact TVU Support to configure token transfers.

To transfer tokens:

1. Click the Transfer Token icon at the top of the Token Management panel.

2. The Transfer Tokens window will display.
3. Enter the group payee account in the To field.
4. In the Transfer amount field, enter a token quantity.
5. Click the Confirm button.

TVU Partyline is a Real-Time Interactive Layer (RTIL) that can operate with several TVU solutions.

Introduction, setup, and use

Partyline overview

TVU Partyline is a Real-Time Interactive Layer (RTIL) that can operate with several TVU solutions. It uses TVU’s patented IS+ transmission protocol to ensure broadcast-quality video, audio, and signal resiliency throughout a TVU Partyline session over the public internet, regardless of the number of participants.

Partyline integrates with TVU Producer and version 9.0 and above of the TVU Anywhere App, which provides video conferencing capabilities between multiple participants or remote participants in a live production.

System requirements

• A PC with an i7 processor or above with 16 GB or above memory
• Minimum screen resolution of 1366 x 768
• Internet bandwidth at 32 Mbps (download) and 10 Mbps (upload)
• Windows 10 or later, Mac OS 11.0 or later

TVU compatible products

• Receiver (Build 8120) and above
• TVU Anywhere (Android): 10.3.18 above
• TVU Anywhere (iOS) 10.3.18 above
• TVU Anywhere (MAC) 10.2.13 above
• TVU RPS One (Build 81349) and above

Partyline bandwidth requirements:

Participants can join Partyline with the following resolution/bitrate based on the Internet bandwidth availability:

Note: The host can run low or high quality (720p).

• 360p 30 fps, 600k-1000k (Low/high quality)
• 480p 30 fps 750k-1000k (high quality)
• 720p 30 fps 2000k-2300k (high quality)
• 1080p 30 fps 3000k-3200k (high quality)

Bandwidth requirements to run a standard Partyline session on a PC, Mac, or TVU Anywhere:

• 2 Mbps per participant when the host allows each participant to run in high quality at 720p.
• Whether you are a host or a participant, the average download requirement to run a regular Partyline is (2 Mbps + (Number of Participants at 2 Mbps)), considering all participants come in high quality at 720p resolution.
• If there are 16 participants, the download bandwidth requirements are 2 + (2 at 16) = 34 Mbps. The upload Bandwidth required to run the regular Partyline is a minimum of 2 to 4 Mbps.

Bandwidth requirements to run Partyline on a PC, Mac, or TVU Anywhere in Mosaic or Conference mode:

• The bandwidth requirements for the host or co-host remain the same whether it is a regular party, mosaic, or conference mode.
• However, the participant’s bandwidth requirement will be 2 Mbps (download), and 2 Mbps upload speed when running at high-quality 720p resolution.

To ensure optimized performance, use a Chrome browser, turn off VPN, and confirm no other conferencing room software is running in the background (e.g., Zoom) that may have possession
of your camera.

Features overview

• Partyline Welcome screen – Allows users to switch from dark to light mode before starting or joining a party.
• Join with a simple Web link or QR code – TVU Partyline is a Real-Time Interactive Layer that sits on top of other production tools, permitting remote interaction and participant collaboration. The participants only need access to the public internet to connect. They can join a conference room from any web browser using the link, QR code, or the meeting ID provided by the host, as well as from any smartphone using the TVU Anywhere mobile app.
• IS+ Transmission – TVU Partyline uses TVU’s patented IS+ transmission protocol to ensure high-quality HD video and signal resiliency throughout the session, no matter how many participants join. IS+ supports any video feed, including 4K and 5G signals, to meet the needs of traditional media and new media workflows. Its patented Inverse StatMux (statistical multiplexing) transmission algorithm removes potential delivery issues to ensure high-quality video at the lowest latency possible during transmission.
• Multiple screen share – When using TVU Partyline, participants can share their entire desktop, a specific application, device, video, and TVU Anywhere screen. The desktop share gets added as a separate participant for easy viewing. Any of those sources can be used for live production in high quality.
• Add multiple participants – It can manage hundreds of callers within a single session and is scalable to handle larger and smaller production crews. The host and participants can chat during a Partyline session. The chat can be private or in a group and include message notifications.
• Control and management – Easily enable and disable private communication between producer and anchor without additional IFB channels. The producer can also create groups, so certain participants have limited access to the production discussion. A voice-only mode is also available, and audio can be output to the left or right channel, so talent and crew instructions are not grouped with comments from outside contributors.
• Lazy Audio control icon – When enabled in the Settings cog, the Lazy Audio button displays in each pip. The host and the participant can control this feature. If Lazy Audio is disabled, the left audio channel is output to the Receiver. When Lazy Audio is enabled, the right audio channel is output to the Receiver, and other participants won’t hear it.
• Private/Text chat – The host and the participants can chat during a Partyline session. The chat can be private or in a group and include message notifications.
• Automated mix minus – TVU Partyline delivers HD video and two-channel stereo audio, and mix-minus audio engineering eliminates echoes and feedback, so there’s no need for headphones. The awkward pauses commonly experienced in traditional video conferencing platforms are eliminated because all participants are synced in the same constant millisecond delay.
• Supports major workflows – Beyond cell phones, TVU Partyline is compatible with external audio and video sources, including SDI, NDI, and SRT. TVU Partyline can receive content from connected sources via TVU One, TVU RPS One, TVU MLink, TVU Nano, and TVU Grid.
• Cloud based – TVU Partyline sessions are created and managed in the cloud. As a result, if the producer who begins the meeting signs off or loses internet connectivity, the live session continues. The loss of any participant will not stop the live interaction – TVU Partyline continues without interruption.
• Adding a Co-host – Use the TVU Partyline Co-host feature to add a co-host to your partyline. The Partyline host invites a Partyline co-host via email. Once the co-host accepts the invitation, the co-host inherits the same controls as the host. A co-host can accept or decline an invitation and can remove themselves as co-host without the host’s intervention.
• Collaborate option – When selected from the User Management drop-down menu, the host can invite and enable collaborators via email to pull a production into their Partyline or send sources from the host’s Partyline to a TVU Producer account. This feature is a global configuration that applies to all parties.
• Integrates with TVU Anywhere Remote Control – The Remote Control feature is compatible with the TVU Anywhere app Android v10.4.21, iOS v10.4.21, and MacOS v10.2.24.
• Conference mode – This mode manages Live Interaction by the host to designate specific roles, such as Speaker and Interviewer. All other participants can see and hear the interaction without interference from the rest of the group.
• TVU MediaHub support:– MediaHub input can be added to Partyline as a participant in the party.

Partyline mode (Common Party)

Overview

TVU Partyline allows remote (and distributed) video production teams and crews to collaborate and interact.

All members can interact with each other on a regular or common Partyline as if they are all in the same control room. Members can also establish a direct one-to-one conversation with the production team and crew members.

The Program Video (or studio output) feed is pulled into the host’s Partyline feed and seen by all participants. For information about pulling the Program Output feed, refer to “Sending the video feed from a receiver to Partyline.”

Each participant can join the Partyline mode to view and listen to the video feed while talking to other participants to share their feedback about the live program being produced. Each participant, including the host, can share their screen with other participants.

The host can enable private conversations between multiple participants, including the host.

Step 1 – Create your Partyline account

To log into or create a Partyline account, complete the following steps:

1. Go to https://www.tvunetworks.com/products/tvu-partyline/ and click Sign Up/Login in the main navigation.

The Partyline Sign-in page displays.

3. To create an account, click Sign Up and complete the required information.

Step 2 – Start a party

To initiate a Partyline session, complete the following steps:

1. Open a browser tab and enter: https://Partyline.tvunetworks.com
2. The Partyline Welcome screen displays. Choose the dark or light mode at the top-right of the Welcome screen. The dark mode is the default.
3. Click the green Get Started button.

The Partyline Sign in page displays.

4. If you have a TVU account, Sign in to Partyline with your user account credentials. Sign in with your new credentials if you set up a new account.

Note: Using the same credentials allows Partyline to access details about your producer session.

The Partyline Workbench interface opens.

5. Click the Create Party button to initiate a new Partyline session.

6. The new Partyline session will be displayed at the top of the Party List.
7. Select the Party in the Party List to display its usage details.

8. Hover over the Partyline session in the Party List and click Join to open the Participate Setting page.

9. The Participate Setting page allows users to test and configure their mic and camera devices before starting a Partyline session.
10. The Party Name and Nickname fields can be edited as desired.
11. Click the Start Now button.

12. The Party Control page opens with an “AI Speech To Text” message. Click the Got it button or the “Do not remind me again” checkbox to continue.

13. Clicking the Home icon will remove you from the active Partyline Control page and return you to the Partyline Workbench.

14. Your Party ID, Network measurement icon, Invite link, and End Party link are displayed at the top of the Control page.
15. Click the Network measurement icon to open the pop-up window. Make your selections from the drop-down menu to set up the “Audio Only” mode and select the checkboxes to prioritize the videos you want to load.

16. Click the Invite link to invite participants.

The Get link window opens.

17. Make a selection from the drop-down menu and click the Copy link button. If a participant uses the TVU Anywhere app, you can click Copy Link or send the QR code to join the Party.

18. Paste the session URL or QR code into an e-mail and send it to your remote participants.

Step 3 – Participate in the party

Participants copy and paste the URL sent via e-mail into their browser address field. The Participant Setting page opens.

Participants can create a Nickname for their session and open and install the TVU Anywhere app if they prefer using a smartphone.

To participate in the party, click the green Start now button.

Participate using a browser

Remote participants can join the party using a browser (Chrome is recommended).

Removing a participant

If someone enters the party by mistake, the host can remove them by clicking on the participant’s Settings three-dot icon “…” and selecting Remove from party in the drop-down menu.

Step 4 – Screen sharing

Anyone in the party can share a screen and audio, or multiple screens, with others, up to 15 participants.

Anyone in the party can share a screen and audio or multiple screens with others. Screen sharing supports up to fifteen participants.

During a TVU Partyline session, any participant, including the Host (owner of the Partyline), can share multiple screens: their entire desktop, a specific application, a device video, and a TVU Anywhere screen. The desktop share gets added as a separate participant for easy viewing. Any of those sources can be used for a high-quality live production.

Note: The shared screen can be used as a video source sent to the TVU Producer slots 1 to 4 or a receiver.

Using the screen sharing feature, any participant, including the Host (owner of Partyline), can share content by selecting one of the following tabs and enabling the Share tab audio slider:

• Entire Desktop Screen
• Entire Application Window
• Chrome browser window

To start the screen-sharing feature during a Partyline session, complete the following steps:

1. The share screen functionality is activated by clicking the Share Screen icon at the bottom of the Partyline Web interface.

2. To share your system audio, enable the Also share tab audio slider in the share screen pop-up window.
3. Select the tab and content you want to share and click the Share button.

4. The shared content opens in a new tab and is displayed in full-screen mode. To exit full-screen mode, click the View tab: partyline.tvunetworks.com button at the top of the screen.

Note: Only one participant at a time can share a screen.

The shared content is displayed in gallery view mode.

5. Move the speaker slider to adjust the audio. To change the screen share preview window, hover over the preview and select one of the view mode icons.

6. To stop screen sharing, click the blue Stop Sharing button. Otherwise, click the green Stop screen Share icon at the bottom of the window.

Step 5 – Picture-in-Picture feature

Any video previews in a participant’s Partyline session can be displayed in a separate, resizable, and movable window.

To use this feature, complete the following steps:

1. Hover your mouse over the bottom right section of the preview window. Click the Picture-in-Picture icon.

2. A separate movable, resizable window displays. Move your mouse to the top-left corner until the sizing tool displays to resize the window. Resize or move the window as desired.

3. To close the window and return to the participant’s preview, click the X in the window’s top-right corner.
4. Hover your mouse over the preview window to view the preview in full-screen mode. Then, select the Full-screen icon. Double-click the full screen to return to the basic preview.

Step 6 – Intercom – Private conversation feature

As the host, you can control the public and private conversation features by enabling or disabling the appropriate slider in the party Settings and chat Setting windows.

To enable participants to create private conversations:

1. Click the Party Setting icon to open the settings menu.

2. The Party Setting window is also accessible by clicking the three-dot icon in the Party list and selecting Party Setting.

3. The Setting window opens. Enable the Intercom (private chat) slider.

4. Click the headset icon below the preview window to start a two-way private chat. Others will not hear the initiator outside of the chat, and the initiator will hear the recipients.

4. The participant’s Headset icon below the preview will be displayed in red when a private conversation is active.

Along with their private conversation, they can hear audio from the participants. The host and participants can create a private conversation with the host and other participants simultaneously.

5. To end the private conversation, click the red Headset.

Step 7 – Creating a group or private written chat

All modes now include the chat feature for written communication between the host and participants. This feature includes options for starting a private chat, group chat, and message notification.

Note: This functionality allows you to create a private conversation with more than one person at a time.

The host has control of the chat setting and can lock public or private chat sessions by clicking the Chat icon and Chat setting button at the bottom of the chat panel.

• Lock public chat: When enabled, participants can only receive messages, but not send any.
• Lock private chat: When enabled, participants can only receive and send chats to the host.

1. Click the Chat icon to create a private written chat with a participant or group chat.

2. The Chat panel displays your chat options.
3. Select Group chat to chat with all Partyline participants.

4. Select +New message to start a Private or Personal chat.

5. Select Group chat or the name of the participant with whom you would like to chat privately. Enter your message in the Message field at the bottom of the chat panel and click the Send Message icon.

6. The participant or group will see a red dot at the top of the chat icon. This red dot indicates that a chat has been started. Click the Chat icon to open the chat panel.

7. To start a private chat with one of the Partyline participants or host, click Personal chat room and + New message, then select the participant with whom you would like to chat within the chat panel.

8. Enter your message in the Message field at the bottom of the chat panel. The participant’s chat icon displays a red dot indicating that a new message is available.

9. All new chat responses are indicated with a red dot at the top of the participant’s name in the chat panel. Click the red dot to display the new message.

10. To close the chat panel, click the Chat icon.

Adding a Co-host

Use the TVU Partyline Co-host feature to add a co-host to your party. The Partyline host invites a Partyline co-host via email. Once the Co-host accepts the invitation, the Co-host inherits the same controls as the host except for the “Delete party” and “Add Co-host” functions. A Co-host can accept or decline an invitation and can remove themselves as a Co-host without the host’s intervention.

To add a co-host:

1. Navigate to the Partyline Workbench interface and create or select an existing party from the Party list. Hover over the Party, click the three dots, and select Add Co-host.

2. To send an invitation to Co-host, enter the Co-host’s email and click Add.

3. The co-host receives a “TVU Partyline Service Host Authorization” invitation via email. The co-host has the option to Accept or Decline the invitation.

Note: The co-host displays in the Workbench party list with a gray double silhouette icon until accepted.

4. After accepting the invitation, the co-host can go to https://partyline.tvunetworks.com, click the Join Party button, enter the Partyline ID, and click Join to enter the Workbench.
5. The partyline session is displayed in the Party list with a double silhouette in green followed by a number to indicate co-ownership is accepted. The co-host will have equal management rights with the host (party owner.)

6. Click the User Management icon and click Co-Host to confirm the Co-host invitation status. The Received Invites window is displayed. The host or co-host can choose to decline co-ownership by clicking the permission menu and selecting Decline.

Collaborate option

When Collaborate is selected from the User Management drop-down menu, the host can invite and enable collaborators via email to pull a production into their Partyline or send sources from the host’s Partyline to a TVU Producer account. This feature is a global configuration that applies to all parties.

Note: An invited collaborator must have a registered TVU Producer account.

When accepted, the collaborator will be able to go live with your Producer production and move their participants to your Partyline:

• The collaborator can go live with their participants using your Producer programs.
• The collaborator can move their participants to your Partyline.
• The collaborator can pull your Producer program as a video return.

To add a collaborator:

1. Click the User Management icon in the top navigation bar.
2. Select Collaborate in the drop-down menu.

3. In the Invite Collaborators pop-up window, enter the collaborator’s email address and click Add.

4. The invited collaborator receives the TVU Partyline Service Authorization via email. The invited collaborator can Accept or Decline the request.

• Accepted invitations to collaborate emails are added to the Received Invites list. The collaborator can start live with an added account.
• The collaborator can move the pip to the added account.
• The collaborator can pull the Producer program from the added account and put it into your Main window.

5. To remove a collaborator, the host must open the Invite Collaborators window, click the Received Invites tab, mouse over the collaborator’s name, click the three dots, and select Remove.

Adding a TVU device to Partyline

The host can easily add TVU devices to their Partyline session.

To add a TVU Device to Partyline:

1. Click the Add TVU Device icon.

2. In the top-right panel, click the search icon.

3. In the Search field, enter a name or ID, or select an input source type from the menu to build your list.

4. Click the checkbox for the desired input source(s), and then click Next.

5. Select the Video and Audio Inputs.

6. Click Add at the bottom of the panel.
7. A new preview window opens for the device. Enter the input source name or ID. These entries become selectable once entered.

Note: All of the latest supported devices are listed in the What’s new panel. Refer to View What’s New in Partyline” for more information.

Setting up TVU Anywhere Remote Control

The Remote Control feature allows users to access TVU Anywhere functions and control settings from within the Partyline browser window.
To set up the Partyline TVU Anywhere Remote Control feature:

1. Click the three-dot icon at the bottom right of the TVU Anywhere participant screen.

2. The pop-up menu appears. Click Setting.

3. The Remote Control window will appear.

Visible functions: Battery status, PID, App version, device model, and OS version are displayed at the top of the screen.

4. Click the headset icon to start a private conversation with a participant. The icon turns red when enabled.
5. Click the headset icon again to stop the private chat.

Control settings: Below the preview screen, users can modify the Resolution, Frame rate, and camera view; define the default view they see on their screen (e.g., full-screen or Partyline views); remotely switch the microphone; and trigger Recording for future uploads.

6. Click the Recording button to trigger recording.

Microphone and camera selections in all modes

The Partyline UI allows the host and participant to directly access a drop-down menu for microphone and camera selections in all modes. The host and participant can access these devices at the bottom of the screen. A participant can click the red phone icon to leave the party.

Click the “?” icon in the top-right main navigation panel to follow and view the latest Partyline updates and features. The What’s New panel opens from within Partyline. Click What’s New to also view the latest supported devices.

The What’s New panel includes the following information:

• Partyline build information is also available when you hover over the TVU Partyline logo in the top-left main navigation panel.

• Supported TVU receivers and packs.
• Supported TVU Anywhere Apps, smart device types, and software requirements.

• Feature releases

Mosaic mode (Gallery view)

Overview

Fans can join this Partyline mode online and cheer for their favorite players or teams. The Partyline mode allows the host to place all the fans in a specific grid layout and project the format to big displays such as Halo or Jumbotron in a venue.

The Mosaic mode in TVU Partyline allows unlimited virtual participants, such as sports fans, to appear and exchange their cheers, comments, or feedback.

Step 1 – Opening the Mosaic (Gallery view)

Gallery view allows the participant to copy and send URLs directly to remote participants using the TVU Anywhere App or browser.

Complete the following steps to start a Partyline session:

1. Open a browser tab and enter: https://Partyline.tvunetworks.com/
2. The Partyline Welcome screen displays. Choose the dark or light mode at the top-right corner of the Welcome screen. The dark mode is the default.
3. Click the green Get Started button.

The Partyline sign-in page displays.

3. If you have a TVU account, sign in to Partyline with your user account credentials. Sign in with your new credentials if you set up a new account.

Note: Using the same credentials allows Partyline to access details about your producer session.

4. The Partyline Workbench interface opens.
5. Click the Gallery View tab.
6. Click the green Create Party button to initiate a new Partyline Gallery View session. The new session is displayed in the Party List.
7. Select the new Party in the Party List to display its usage details.

8. Hover the mouse over the new Party and click Join.

9. In the Participate Setting page, enter a Party Name and click Start now.

Note: The host’s camera is not used in Gallery view mode and is disabled by default.

10. Click the Invite link in the top main navigation panel and click the Copy link.

11. Paste the copied link into an email and send it to all your remote participants using the TVU Anywhere App or the browser.

Step 2 – Participate in the Mosaic (Gallery view)

Remote participants can join the Mosaic (Gallery view) using an iPhone, iPad, Android phone, or computer by clicking on the URL sent via e-mail.

Remote TVU Anywhere participants

Remote participants can join the Mosaic (Gallery view) using the TVU Anywhere App.

1. Click on the URL sent via e-mail.

The TVU Anywhere App is launched with the gallery view feature. The remote participant can now see this user interface on his TVU Anywhere App or the browser.

2. Click the switch button to switch the front and rear cameras of the phone.
3. Click the camera icon to turn the camera On or Off.
4. Click the microphone to control the microphone.

Remote participants can join the Gallery view using the Partyline window.

Note: A Chrome browser is recommended.

Removing the participant from the Mosaic (Gallery view)

If someone enters the party by mistake, the host can remove them from the party by simply hovering over the participant’s window, clicking the three dots “…” and then clicking Remove from party.

Step 3- Mosaic mode output

The dispatcher uses the Mosaic mode feature to control the layout of participant windows. A participant can be replaced or removed from a source window in the Mosaic mode.

Other features include several participant window layout options. The default layout option is 7×7. Participants can be output to the receiver from the Mosaic mode Output function.

1. To change the layout, click the view icon to the left of your account icon in the top right navigation panel.
2. Choose a layout from the menu.

3. To replace a participant, mouse over the participant’s window and click the three dots “…” in the bottom right corner of the window, and click Replace.

The Replace participant menu displays.

4. Select a replacement from the menu and click the Replace button.

5. To send all participant source windows to the receiver, click the Output drop-down menu and select a receiver. Then, click the Send button.

After the participants or fans join the Partyline, they are ready to view the live event or game as spectators who can actively cheer in the event or live game.

6. If desired, choose to send selected layouts to different receivers. Layouts can be combined as projects and projected onto the stadium screen.

Step 4 – Move participants from Party to Party – Mode to Mode

This feature allows the host to move any participant from party to party and mode to mode by creating individual links for each participant. The participant must currently be in the Mosaic
mode to enable this feature.

From the Mosaic mode, the host can move an individual or batch of participants into another mode or party by completing the following steps:

Individual participants

1. Click the three dots “…” at the bottom-right corner of the participant’s preview window and select Move to from the drop-down menu.

2. Select the Party and Mode you want the participant to move to and click Save.

3. Click Move from the Movement Operation window.

Batch moving participants

1. Click the three dots “…” at the bottom-right corner of the participants’ preview window and select Move to from the drop-down menu.
2. You have two selection options: click the top-right icon in the participant preview window. The icon turns green when selected.

3. You may also choose to click Select all from the bottom-right pop-up window to select all participants and click Done.

Note: For modes that cannot be moved with the select All function, continue with step 4.

4. Click the three dots “…” at the bottom-right corner of the participants’ preview window and select Move to from the drop-down menu.

5. Select the Party or Mode you want the selected participants to move to and click Move to confirm your selection.

6. To view your changes, press F5 to refresh the screen.

7. The Select Account panel opens. Select the appropriate tab, then select your Party ID and click Save.

Step 5 – Lock, rename, and tag a participant’s name

The host can lock, rename, and add an identifying tag to each participant’s name in their preview name field. This feature is visible only to the host and allows them to easily identify a participant’s role in Partyline.

Renaming a participant

To use the Rename feature, complete the following steps:

1. Click the three dots “…” at the bottom-right corner of the participants’ preview window and select Rename from the drop-down menu.

The Participation Settings window opens.

2. Enter a new name in the Name field, then click Submit.

Adding a tag

In the following example, the host can identify the Participant as “Participant/Production” below the preview window. The host only sees this feature.

To add a tag to the participant’s name, complete the following steps:

1. Click the three dots “…” at the bottom-right corner of the participant’s preview window, then select Edit tag name from the drop-down menu.

The Tag name setting window opens.

2. Enter a tag name in the Tag name field. Then, click Submit. The tag displays after the participant’s name, separated by a “/”.

Lock and Unlock participant names

The host can lock or unlock participant names. This allows the participant to change their preview name.

To use the Lock/unlock feature, complete the following steps:

1. Click the Setting Gear icon in the top-right navigation pane.

The Setting window opens.

2. Click the Participant tab and move the Participant name slider to the right or left to lock or unlock the Participant name.

Full-screen Gallery view

The host can change to a clean, full-screen view of the mosaic in a new browser window. To open a full-screen Gallery view, Click the Workbench tab and select the Gallery View tab.

Change the Party Name on the Participate Settings page, then click Start now if desired.

The full-screen Gallery view page opens.

4. Click the Full-screen icon.

5. To exit from full-screen mode, hover your mouse over the top left side of the screen and click Exit full screen.

Hide/show me feature (Participant view)

Participants can hide their preview window from other participants by using the Hide me feature. This feature does not hide their preview from the host.

To hide your preview, click the green Hide Me Arrow.

To show your preview, click the green Show Me Arrow.

Kiosk mode

Overview

The Partyline Kiosk mode is designed to accommodate up to 30 participants and a main video feed in a dynamically arranged window that fits on a single display without the need to scroll or add secondary screens. Kiosk mode always emphasizes the main video feed and moves and resizes participant windows around it as participants are added or removed. It also allows you to use a custom background image and logos to display alongside the video feeds.

Note: The host camera is not used in Kiosk mode.

Starting Kiosk mode

To use the kiosk mode, start a Partyline session and complete the following steps:

1. On the Workbench page, select the Kiosk tab and click the Create Party button.

2. Select the new entry in the Party List. Hover your mouse over the entry and click Join.
3. If desired, change the Party Name on the Participate Settings page, then click Start now.

A new Kiosk mode tab opens.

4. Make a selection from the Main Window drop-down menu. For selection descriptions, scroll down to the “Main Window menu.”

The host can set the main window to a receiver, TVU Producer, a shared screen, or the webcam/video feed from a participant (not available in other Partyline modes), or two participant webcam/video feeds in side-by-side mode (also not available in other Partyline modes).

5. Make a selection from the Output drop-down menu. For more information, scroll down to “Output destination selections.”

The output will include the background image, logos, and all main window and participant video feeds, and will look just like the Partyline session.

Otherwise, the functionality is all the same, so those elements can be repeated.

Inviting participants

To invite participants, complete the following steps:

1. Click Invite at the top of the window.

The Get link window opens.

2. Make a selection from the drop-down menu and click Copy link.

3. Paste the session URL into an e-mail and send it to your remote participants. Up to 30 participants can join a session.

Participate using a browser

Participants copy and paste the URL sent by the host via e-mail into their browser address field (Chrome is recommended).

Each participant that joins will display to the right of the main window.

Host functions

The host view displays the Output and Main Window control functions.

Participant and Main Window Settings

To set available functions for all participants of the party, complete the following steps:

1. Click the Setting (Gear) icon in the top-right navigation pane.

The Setting window opens.

2. Click the Participant Setting tab and use the slider to enable or disable participant functions.

3. Click the Main Window Setting tab and use the slider to enable or disable functions.

Main Window menu

The host sets up the type of video return to display in the main window by selecting from the VFB drop-down menu.

VFB menu selections:

• VFB (Receiver Video Return): Sets the main window to display a video return from a receiver.
• pip (Producer): Sets the main window to display a video return from the TVU Producer source.
• pip (participant): Allows a participant to display in the main window.
• PBP (2x participants): Two participants will display side-by-side in the main window.
• Shared Screen: Allows a shared screen to display in the main window.

Output destination selections

The host selects an output destination from the Output dropdown menu. The output will include the background image, logos, main window, and participant video feeds.

The host can start transmission to a transceiver as a single signal that includes all 30 participants, and the main window feeds are shown as seen by the participants.

Use the Output menu to select a Mosaic destination and click Send.

Screen sharing feature

To use the screen-sharing feature, complete the following steps:

1. To share your screen as the main window or as a picture-in-picture, click the share screen icon at the bottom of the screen.

2. Choose the As a pip or As a Main window display location.
3. Select the tab and content you want to share and click the Share button.

4. The shared content opens in a new tab and is displayed in full-screen mode. To exit full-screen mode, click the partyline.tvunetworks.com button at the top of the screen.

The shared content is displayed in Kiosk view mode.

5. Move the speaker slider to adjust the audio. To change the screen share preview window, hover over the shared preview and select one of the view mode icons.

6. To stop screen sharing, click the blue Stop Sharing button. Otherwise, click the green Stop screen Share icon at the bottom of the window.

Adding backgrounds and logos

The host can add backgrounds and logos by completing the following steps:

1. Click the top-right full-screen icon.

2. Click the +Add Background/Logo button in the top-left of the window.

3. In the left panel, select the Background or Logo tab.
4. To add a logo or background to the image list, click the +Add button, select, and upload your new image.

5. To apply an image, click the Logo or Background tab image.

• If you select a background image, it will cover the entire background of the main window.
• If you select a logo, it will display in a predefined right column. Click the logo to resize it as desired.

6. Click Apply at the bottom of the panel to save your changes.

7. To return to the main screen, click the arrow on the top-left panel and the Exit full-screen button.

Add to Global Control feature

The Add to global Control feature uses the Kiosk party mode. This feature allows one way to manage multiple Kiosk parties from a single place. You can “bundle” multiple Kiosk parties and control VFB for all of them simultaneously. It also includes Mute/Unmute control, Move feature, and Full-Screen control.

1. Click the Workbench page tab, and select the Global Control tab.
2. Click the green Create Party button.

3. In the Add to Global Control pop-up window, enter a Global control Name.

4. Select the radio button of the Partyline session you want to control and click Save.

Pressline (Conference mode)

Overview

TVU Partyline operates in Pressline mode (Conference mode). TVU Partyline Pressline mode is used with TVU Producer for live broadcast and recording. Partyline can be configured to host virtual interviews, press conferences, town halls, or other educational events. Participants, such as reporters or the general audience, can be pre-screened by a coordinator before being placed into a queue. The conference coordinator can view and interact one-to-one with all of the participants. All participants can view and hear the guest and interviewer, but not the rest of the participants.

Partyline Pressline (conference mode)

Using the Pressline mode in a virtual event requires a primary technical host or coordinator to run the conference. The virtual event includes a speaker or a presenter who will address the audience and a set of reporters or interviewers who will ask the speaker questions. All other participants watch the event online
through the cloud-based Partyline product.

The coordinator will be able to interact one-on-one with all participants. All participants can view and hear the guest and interviewer without interference from the others. Once a reporter is finished asking questions, the speaker can switch to the next reporter for the next question. The host will
broadcast the entire virtual conference to the audience.

Partyline has an enhanced conference mode, where the coordinator can designate a Speaker and Interviewer, create a queue for questions, use the Chat feature, and enable the Raise Hand capability. All integrated for the broadcast world (SDI Output on TVU Receivers) in high quality/low latency.

Starting a new conference

Partyline Pressline mode is used with TVU Producer for the Live broadcast and recording.

As a host, Complete the following steps to run a new conference or use Pressline mode from the Partyline user interface:

1. Click the Workbench page tab, select the Conference tab, and choose a Party list menu item, or click the Create Party button.

2. Hover your mouse over the new conference entry in the Party List and click Join. The Participate Setting page opens.

3. Enter a new Party Name, Nickname, and Corporation to customize your conference setting.
4. Click the Start now button. The Conference mode page opens.

5. Click Invite at the top of the user interface to copy the Partyline ID. In the Get Link pop-up window, click Copy Link.
6. Send the copied link and conference details to the speaker and all participants.
7. After all participants join, select a Speaker from the Main Window drop-down menu.

8. Select a source and click the Send button. The Speaker is now live. Click the Stop button to stop the transmission.

9. The Speaker is now live and ready to communicate with participants.

10. Inform the reporters in the conference to click the Raise Hand icon when they want to ask a question.

When a reporter clicks the Raise Hand icon, their name and details are entered into the raised hand queue. The host can choose to review all the reporters’ details in the queue and select Set private chat to interview them in advance before you queue them to ask a question.

11. If desired, the host can add the reporter to the questioner queue by clicking the three dots “…” and selecting Add to interviewer queue or Remove to remove the reporter from the raised hand queue..

Reporters in the Interviewer queue will wait their turn to go live and ask the speaker questions.

7. When the speaker is ready to take questions from the reporter, the host clicks on a reporter from the questioner queue and selects Set as interviewer from the pop-up menu.

After the reporter is Set as Interviewer, the reporter (questioner) displays on the right side of the Speaker panel. The speaker displays on the left side of the Speaker panel.

The reporter and speaker can now have a dialog with one another. All of the participants now view both speaker and reporter.

To select another participant option, click the three dots “…” and make a selection from the drop-down menu.

Note: Both the speaker and reporter video can be routed to TVU transceivers for further broadcast.

Automatic audio control for private conversations

When the host starts a private conversation with a participant, all audio (Video Feedback and other participants) are automatically decreased to 50%, creating a better conversation experience for
users.

To set up a private chat with the host, click the three dots “…” and select Set Private Chat from the drop-down menu.

When a private chat is active, the raised hand queue shows the private chat participant in red.

To end a private chat with the host, click the three dots “…” and select hang up Private chat from the drop-down menu.

Lazy Audio Control feature

This feature is enabled in the Partyline mode Setting menu. When a participant can’t hear you, expand the caret and select a destination. Tap the Live button to start live and send the Left audio channel to the receiver, or tap the Live button Ctrl-L to send the Right audio channel to the receiver.

The Lazy Audio button displays in each pip. The host and the participant can control the audio. If Lazy Audio is disabled, the left audio channel is output to the Receiver. When Lazy Audio is enabled, the right audio channel is output to the Receiver, and other participants won’t hear it.

Audience icon host controls

When in Conference mode, the audience can only receive all video and audio from the party and cannot provide their own video. Audiences can connect with the host by clicking their raised hand icon and private chat feature.
Click the Audience icon to open the Audience window. The Host settings (three-dot icon) include the Rename and Add to Interviewer Queue.

The Participant settings are described below.

2. Click the Sign up/Login icon at the page’s top right corner and select TVU Producer.

3. The Producer Sign-in pop-up window displays. Click Sign Up, then “Get started for free today” window will appear.

4. Enter your Name, email, and Password, then click Get Started now.
5. Check your email, enter the six-digit code, and then click Verify.
6. The TVU Producer Workbench opens. Continue to “Creating a program” in Step 2.

Step 2 – Signing in to your Producer account

To Sign in to your TVU Producer account, complete the following steps:

Note: TVU Partyline does not require a Producer account. If you do not have a TVU Producer account, continue to “Step 3 – Log in to the Partyline web page.”

1. Open a web browser window and enter:

2. Click the green Sign up/Login button in the top-right corner of the page.

The Producer Sign-in pop-up window displays.

3. To Sign in to the TVU Producer Web user interface, enter the following information:

4. Click Sign In. The Producer Workbench user interface will display. Continue with “Creating a program.”

Creating a program

To create a program, complete the following steps:

1. Click the Workbench tab. Then, click + Create a Program.

2. In the Create a program pop-up window, enter a Program name for your production and click Next. The Settings window opens.
3. Enable the Party-line feature checkbox and other desired features for your live production, select a Region, and click Save.

4. Inform your remote participants to get ready with their iPhones or Androids with the Partyline-supported TVU Anywhere App.

Step 3 – Log into the Partyline Web page

TVU Partyline and TVU Producer allow all participants to video conference with each other using TVU Anywhere App while transmitting their feed to the Producer using the TVU Anywhere App.

To initiate a Partyline session, complete the following steps:

1. Open a browser tab and enter:
   https://Partyline.tvunetworks.com
2. The Partyline Welcome screen displays. Choose the dark or light mode at the top right of the Welcome screen. The dark mode is the default.
3. Click the green Get Started button.

The Partyline sign-in page displays.

4. If you have a TVU account, Sign in to Partyline with your user account credentials. Sign in with your new credentials if you set up a new account.

Note: Using the same credentials allows Partyline to access details about your producer session.

5. The Partyline Workbench interface opens.

8. Hover over the Partyline in the Party List and click Join to open the Participate Setting page.
9. The Participate setting page allows users to test and configure their mic and camera devices before starting a Partyline session.
10. The Party Name and Nickname fields can be edited as desired.
11. Click the Start Now button. The Party Control page opens.

12. Click Invite at the top of the control page to allow participants to join the party.

Step 4 – Route all participants to TVU Producer

Start the TVU Producer first, so it is easy to route the selected participants from the Partyline Web page to TVU Producer. Open the Select a destination menu and select Producer > Source > Slot.

Any participant source can be routed to the Producer session using slots 1 to 4, then click the Live button.

Step 5 – Move the Producer return feed into the Partyline Main window

The Producer Output, which is being built, can be chosen as the main window, enabling Partyline participants to view it.

Using the TVU Anywhere App, all participants (or talent personnel) can video conference.

Participants can see a return feed on the main screen that indicates what is being broadcast.

The Technical Producer is not participating in the video conference but is focused on producing the live show and switching between different sources.

This enables all participants and the producer to collaborate efficiently to produce the live program.

Appendix B – Using Partyline with a receiver

Using Partyline with a receiver includes the following topics:

• Sending the video feed from a receiver to Partyline

9. The Participate setting page allows users to test and configure their mic before starting a Partyline session. The camera is disabled by default in Gallery View.
10. Enter a Party Name.

11. Click the Start Now button. The Gallery View Control page opens.

Partyline integration with TVU receivers

The return video feed of your receivers can be chosen as a main window so that everyone in the Partyline can view it. The Picture-in-Picture feature allows the return video feed preview window to be resized and moved if desired.

Any participant source can be routed to a receiver.

Step 2 – Sending the video feed from a receiver to Partyline

The next step is to get the return feed on the Partyline Web page so that everyone in the Partyline sees what is going live on the return video feed from a receiver.

To view what is going live on the TVU receiver’s live return video feed, complete the following step:

1. Go to the Main Window menu and choose the program name or live show you are building with TVU Producer or the live return video feed from a receiver using the Source Type and Select source drop-down menus.

Step 3 – Send a participant to the receiver feed

You are now set to route the TVU Anywhere participants to the appropriate slots on the receiver.

To route TVU Anywhere participants to the appropriate slots, complete the following steps:

1. To select a slot, go to the selected participant’s picture and click the menu below the picture frame.
2. Choose a slot from the menu where this TVU Anywhere participant will go into the receiver feed.

Note: If you choose 2, then this selected TVU-Anywhere participant or remote talent is now routed to Input Source 2 on the Producer session.

You are now all set to produce your live show using your remote participants.

Using single or multiple receivers

Different receivers can be selected to view their video feed:

LinuxR and CloudR: Add the linuxR or CloudR to your Command Center account. Credentials must be the same as your Partyline account. The dispatcher selects the attendees or shared screen to go live with the receivers. The dispatcher will choose receivers to watch the return video feed in the main window. This enables all attendees to see the video feed on the big screen.

The PGM window in TVU Producer can be selected for viewing the feed:

Your producer account credentials must be the same as your Partyline account. The dispatcher selects the attendees or the shared screen to go live with the TVU Producer slot. You can then use different resources as the PGM. The dispatcher will choose TVU Producer to watch the PGM in the main window.

Picture-in-Picture feature (VBF)

To use the Picture-in-Picture feature for your return video feed preview, complete the following steps:

1. Go to the Main Window and choose the live return video feed from a receiver using the drop-down menu. Then, click Send from the pop-up window.

2. The return video preview displays. Hover your mouse over the preview. Then, select the Picture-in-Picture icon.

The preview displays in a separate moveable window.

To resize the window, move your mouse to the window’s upper-right corner to display and use the sizing tool. To close the PIP window, click the X in the top-right corner.

Appendix C – Using TVU Anywhere with TVU Partyline

Step 1 – Download and install the TVU Anywhere App on your iOS smart mobile device

The TVU Anywhere App is available free of charge from the App store. To download and register the TVU Anywhere App, complete the following steps:

1. Go to the App Store from your mobile device and enter TVU Anywhere Pro in the search field. Download and install the iOS TVU Anywhere Version 9.0.43 and above to your smartphone
   or laptop.
2. Go to your Applications folder and launch the TVU Anywhere App.

3. Press the double arrows to open the feature bar.
4. Press the Info icon.

5. Write down your device PID.

Contact TVU Support to complete your registration. You will need to provide the following information:

• The device PID
• The receiver(s) name and PID

6. After the PID is successfully registered, you can begin streaming.

On Mac OS

Download and Install the TVU Anywhere App version 9.0.0b111 to your Mac OS device.

Download and install the TVU Anywhere App to your Android device

The TVU Anywhere App is available free of charge from the Google Play Store. To download and register the TVU Anywhere App, complete the following steps:

1. Click the Google Play icon from your mobile device and enter TVU Anywhere Pro in the search field. Download and install the TVU Anywhere app version 9.0.42 and above to your smartphone.

Step 2 – Participate in the party

A production initiator sends the TVU Anywhere app user a web link in the field to pair their device to the Partyline session. Participants can see a return feed on the main screen that indicates what is being broadcast.
The remote participants will join using their iPhone or Android phone by clicking on the URL or QR code that the initiator sent.

To join a Party:

1. Open the TVU Anywhere app and press the Partyline icon.

2. Press Join Party.

3. Copy and paste the Partyline URL in the field provided and tap Join.

Participate using the TVU Anywhere App

The remote participant can now see this user interface in the TVU Anywhere App and join a video conference with all other remote participants on the Partyline.

1. Click the switch button To reverse the front and rear camera views on your cell phone.
2. Click the camera ON to enable participants to see you. Click the camera OFF if you prefer not to be seen.
3. Click the Microphone icon to control the On and Off function of the microphone. When you click the Microphone button to Off, you are active, and participants cannot hear you.
4. Horizontally scroll the screen to view more participants.
5. PIP mode – Click PGM or a participant’s source to enlarge their window. The enlarged picture and your picture displays in PIP mode. Click the screen again to exit PIP mode.

Pairing your device with a TVU receiver

Email TVU Support at support@tvunetworks.com. TVU support will pair your TVU Anywhere app to the receiver receiving your stream.

In addition, TVU Anywhere integrates with the TVU Command Center Token feature. Activating the Token feature allows an administrator to pair with a list of registered receivers using the Command Center user interface.

Note: For more information about the Token feature, refer to “Appendix A of this Quick Start User Guide”TVU Token feature overview.”

TVU Anywhere operational controls and functions

After launching the TVU Anywhere app, the interface will display the following operational controls and functions.

Select icon – Press the Select icon next to the battery indicator to open the Scan window and pair your device with a receiver.
Folding menu (double arrows) – Press the double arrows “>>” folding menu to open the feature menu icons.

The feature icon selections are described as follows from left to right:

Crop icon – Tap the Crop icon to select part of the video image.

Filmstrip icon – Tap the filmstrip icon to open the alternate source menu.

The Filmstrip source selections include Native camera captures, pictures, and external device pairing. Features include PIP, PBP, BGM, and BGM Blur:

• Picture-in-Picture (PIP) icon – The PIP icon allows the user to transmit an overlay on top of their transmission.
• Picture-by-Picture (PBP) icon – The PIP icon allows users to transmit two pictures side-by-side.
• Background manager icon (BGM) – The BGM icon displays a subject with a full background.
• Background manager icon (BGM Blur) – The BGM icon displays a subject with a blurred background.

Create Video Clip icon – Press the Clip icon to create and edit a video clip from recorded videos and photos.

Upload icon – The Upload icon allows users to upload their video clips or pictures to a receiver.

Setting icon – Tap the Setting icon to open the Advanced menu operations such as Video, Audio, Record, MISC, About, and external device configuration and enablement options.

VFB icon – The VFB icon allows the user to initiate a return video feedback from a local SDI or Live source.

Screen Broadcast icon – Use the Screen Broadcast function to record everything on your screen, including notifications. Enable the Do Not Disturb function to prevent unexpected notifications.

Snapshot icon: The camera icon to add a native camera capture to your source menu. This feature allows you to capture an image in Live or Standby mode.

The right panel operational controls and features are described from bottom to top.

Record button – The Record video function records in Live or Standby mode.
Partyline icon – Press the Partyline icon to join or create a Party.
Live button – Press the Stop Icon to Start and Stop the Live video function.
Stream button – Use the Stream button to stream live.
Front and rear facing camera icon – Press this icon to switch between front and rear camera perspectives.
Stabilization – The stabilization feature allows users to capture video in standard, aggressive, or extreme environments.
White balance (WB) – The WB feature allows a user to adjust the white balance of their video.
Zoom – The Zoom feature allows a user to zoom into an image.
Light – The Light feature allows a user to adjust the screen brightness in order to save power.
Focus – To focus on a specific area of the screen, tap the area, and the camera will refocus in that area of the image.
Beauty icon – Adjusts the lighting of an object. This feature also enhances a person’s image by reducing facial imperfections.
Exposure – The Exposure feature allows a user to adjust the video exposure setting.
Transmission – The Transmission feature allows users to adjust the delay and bitrate when live.
Microphone – Select the desired mic ( embedded mic, earphone mic, or Bluetooth mic).

New functions

The latest functions include:

• Partyline (MacOS): displays a web-side participants list when screen share is highlighted. Supports Partyline stereo capture and playback.
• Partyline (Android/iOS): Supports remote control speaker, recording in CBR mode, and Timelock with Command Center, and displays party name on top of the Party ID when joining a meeting.
• Picture-in-Picture (PIP) with a preloaded picture as background.
• Picture-in-Picture (PIP) with the back camera as background.
• Two Picture-by-Picture PBP functions.
• Two Background Manager options (BGM and BGM Blur.)
• Support for DJI Drone (iOS based on DJI SDK v4.16.2) and DJI Drone (Android, based on DJI SDK v5.14.0).
• Support for Center Stage with the new M1 iPad Pro.
• Support for Accsoon M1 as an external video capture device for Android smartphones.
• Support for Accsoon SeeMo/SeeMo Pro/SeeMo 4kp30 as external video capture devices (iOS/iPadOS only).

• Using the TVU One as a streaming source.
• The option to rename local files when uploading.

Choose your registered receiver

Complete the following steps to choose a registered receiver:

1. Launch the TVU Anywhere app.
2. Press the Select receiver or scan to pair drop-down menu.
3. Select the paired receiver from the list.

4. If you did not select a receiver from the drop-down list, the Scan screen will automatically display.
5. Enter any “optional” information and press Next.

6. A second Scan screen will display. Continue with “Token pairing.”

Token pairing

To Scan or Enter a Token code to pair your smartphone with a receiver:

1. To Enter a Token code, press the “123” icon.

2. Enter your Token code and press Apply.

3. To manually scan a Token code, press the Scan icon and allow the smartphone to scan the Token QR code.

Selecting and playing recorded video into the stream

Below the menu bar is a grid of 6 boxes. Each box is a placeholder for a selected photo or video which can be added to the live stream.

To add a video for live playout:

1. Press the double arrows to open the feature bar.
2. Press the Filmstrip icon.

3. Press the Plus (+) icon and select Video from the menu.

The saved video menu opens.

4. Make your selection and press Done or the Back button to make another selection.

5. To Play a video, tap the video thumbnail once, and it will play into the live stream. At the end of the clip, it will return to the camera feed.

Note: Playing a video will cancel the PIP or PBP setting and the stream will return to the last used primary camera.

6. To delete a preselected video, press and hold one of the boxes that contain a video thumbnail. A red delete bar will appear.

Standby status indicator

After you have selected your receiver, the status indicator in the top left corner of the screen displays “STANDBY” until you go live with the receiver.

Going Live with a receiver

To take your video live with a receiver, press the red Live button.

Live and Offline status indicators

When you go live with the receiver, the status indicator changes to “LIVE” and displays the receiver you are transmitting to. In addition, the live streaming time and the transmission rate displays at the top-left of the screen. If the status indicator reads OFFLINE, TVU Anywhere is not paired with a TVU receiver, or the TVU receiver is not powered on, and you cannot transmit live video.

The “LIVE” status indicator displays in the top left corner of the app when the Live transmission begins, as shown in the following graphic.

Record button

The Record video function can record in Live or Standby mode.

To record in live or Standby mode, complete the following steps:

1. Press the green Rec button.

When you are recording, the Rec button turns to a green square, and a counter starts at the top left of the screen.

2. To stop the recording, press the green square. Your recording is saved to your smart device.

Reverse facing camera feature

This feature allows a user to switch between front and rear camera perspectives.

To use the reverse-facing camera feature, complete the following steps:

1. Press the reverse camera icon.
2. Press the reverse camera icon again to return your camera to front-facing mode.

Stream feature

Note: The Stream feature is a paid feature and is available to users that sign in using their active TVU Producer account.

The Stream feature allows users to:

• Live stream an entire live Partyline video to Social Media platforms and other CDNs.
• Use TVU Anywhere as a streaming source.

To stream live video, complete the following steps:

1. Press the Stream icon.

2. Sign in using your TVU credentials.

3. Follow the prompts to stream live.

Partyline capability feature

The Producer Partyline capability feature integrates with TVU Anywhere App version 9.0.42 and above. Partyline provides video conferencing capabilities between multiple or remote participants in a live production.

A production initiator sends the TVU Anywhere app user a web link in the field to pair their device to the Partyline session. The Participants can see a return feed on the main screen indicating what is being broadcast.

Partyline Support:

• Join a party using a Party ID or create a party and live
• stream the entire party video to Social Media platforms
• and other CDNs.
• Join a party by inputting the party ID.
• Active TVU Voice (VoIP) with Partyline when the app is
• running in the background.
• Prompt allows users to re-enter a Partyline session if
• exited unintentionally.
• Global control and Audio matrix.
• Stereo capture and playback.

The Partyline feature allows users to join or create a Partyline session.

Create a Party

To start a party:

1. Press the Partyline icon.

2. Press the Create New Party button and log in to Partyline with your user credentials.

3. Press the Invite link to copy the code. Send participants the code to join.

Join a Party

To join a Party:

1. Open the TVU Anywhere app and press the Partyline icon.
2. Copy and paste the Partyline URL sent by the host and press Join.

Adding overlay sources

The Add overlay sources icon allows users to add up to six sources. User’s can add URL, HTML streams, and the phone’s GPS information.
To add overlay sources:

1. Tap the overlay source icon.

2. Tap the Plus “+” in one of the six preview blocks.
3. Choose a URL, HTML format or GPS from the menu.

4. Configure your selected source in the pop-up screen using one of the following URL Source, HTML source, or GPS information methods.

URL source

To configure a URL source:

1. Enter a Name.
2. Enter the URL.
3. Enable Web interaction.
4. Enter a Z order.
5. Adjust the Frame Rate.
6. Tap the View Mode “>” to select Preview or Preview and Live.
7. Tap Save in the top banner.

HTML source

To configure a HTML source:

1. Enter a Name.
2. Tap the “>” to enter or paste the Input HTML source code
3. Enable Web interaction.
4. Enter a Z order.
5. Adjust the Frame Rate.
6. Tap the View Mode “>” to select Preview or Preview and Live.
7. Tap Save in the top banner.

GPS information

To configure the phone’s GPS information:

1. Enter a Name.
2. Enable the Coordinates.
3. Enable the Speed (This will impact the devices’ energy).
4. Enable the Altitude.
5. Tap Save in the top banner.

Using the dual-camera feature

The TVU Anywhere Dual camera feature is enabled when using the Picture-by-Picture (PBP) or Picture-in-Picture (PIP), and two Background manager (BGM) modes. These modes allow simultaneous use of the front and rear-facing cameras.

• Picture-in-Picture (PIP) with a preloaded picture as background.
• Picture-in-Picture (PIP) with the back camera as background.
• Two Picture-by-Picture PBP functions.
• Two Background Manager options (BGM and BGM Blur.)

Dual Camera is supported on the following Apple devices: iPhone XS, XR, XS Max, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, ,13, 14/14 Plus/14 Pro/14 Pro Max, 15, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max. 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, and iPad Pro 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th generations and M4.

To use this feature, complete the following steps:

1. Press the double arrows to open the feature bar.
2. Press the Filmstrip icon to open the menu.

3. Place your iPhone in a position to capture the front and rear-facing images.
4. Press the PBP icon for side-by-side Picture-by-Picture, or the PIP icon to overlay video from the front camera onto the back camera video.

Note: The PBP or PIP icons display green when active.

5. Press the BGM (Blur) icon to blur the background image.

6. Click away from the menu to return to the main screen.
7. To move the placement of the PIP image, press and hold the PIP video and drag it to a new position.

Create Video Clip feature

The Create Video Clip feature allows users to select and edit local photos and videos to stream live.

1. Press the Create Video Clip icon.

2. The Create Video Clip window will display.

3. Press the Plus icon to select local photos or video. You will be prompted to allow access to your photo library. In settings, select an access level.
4. Press Edit selected photos, then press Show selected.

5. Press Done.

Upload feature

You can upload your recorded videos and pictures to a receiver using the Upload feature.

To upload your content to a receiver, complete the following steps:

1. Press the Upload icon to open the menu.

2. The Upload screen opens. Press the Plus (+) icon and select Album to upload your video clips or pictures to the paired receiver.

3. Make your selection.

4. In the Preview window, press the Done.

5. Select a Destination Type. To rename your file, press the File Name field.
6. To upload your video clips or pictures to the paired receiver, press Upload.

Advanced features

The Setting icon opens the Settings menu, where you can access Video, Audio, Record, MISC, About, and external device configuration and enablement options.

Refer to “Advanced settings” for Advanced feature use and controls.

1. Tap the Setting icon to open the Setting menu.

2. The Setting menu will be displayed.

Return Video Feedback (VFB)

The VFB icon allows the users to initiate a return video feedback from a local SDI or Live source. The VFB feature allows the option to hide the local video preview when VFB takes the full screen.

To use this feature, complete the following steps:

1. Press the VFB icon to open the menu.

2. Select the desired output and source from the pop-up menu, then press Start.

3. Press the VFB icon in the function bar to stop the live transmission, then press the red Stop icon.

Screen Broadcast feature

Use the Screen Broadcast function to record everything on your screen, including notifications.

Note: To prevent unexpected notifications during the screen broadcast, enable the “Do Not Disturb” function in the TVU Anywhere Control Center interface.

To use the Screen Broadcast feature:

1. Press the Screen Broadcast icon.

2. Press Start Broadcast.

Snapshot feature

Use the camera icon to add a native camera capture to your source menu. This feature allows you to capture an image in Live or Standby mode.

To use the Snapshot feature:

1. Press the Snapshot icon.

2. The snapshot preview temporarily displays. Press the Snapshot icon again to replace the image if needed.

3. Press the Filmstrip icon. Your image is displayed in the Native Camera source window.

Flash feature

The flash feature turns on the flash for extra lighting when needed.

To use the flash feature:

1. To turn on the flash, press the flash icon.
2. To turn the flash function off, press the flash icon again.

Stabilization feature

The Stabilization feature allows users to record video in standard mode or in aggressive or extreme environments.

To use the Stabilization feature:

1. Press Stabilization in the vertical sidebar.
2. Select your appropriate option.

White balance (WB) feature

The WB feature allows a user to adjust the white balance of an image automatically or manually. Auto is the default setting. To switch to the Manual setting, tap Auto.

To manually adjust the WB:

1. Press WB in the vertical sidebar.
2. Use the adjustment bars to correct the white balance.
3. To reset the white balance, press Reset.

Zoom feature

The Zoom feature allows a user to zoom into an image.

To use the Zoom feature:

1. Press Zoom in the vertical sidebar.
2. Use the adjustment bar to magnify your image.
3. To reset the magnification, press Reset.

Light (Brightness) feature

The Light feature allows a user to adjust the brightness of the overall image.

To adjust the brightness:

1. Press Light in the vertical sidebar.
2. Use the adjustment bars to adjust the brightness.
3. To reset the brightness, press Reset.

Focus feature

To focus on a specific area of the screen, tap the area, and the camera will refocus in that area of the image.

To use the Focus feature:

1. Press Focus in the vertical sidebar. This feature is set to Auto by default.
2. Tap the area on the screen that you want the camera to focus on.

3. Press Auto to change to the Manual mode. This mode will allow you to adjust the focus manually.

Beauty feature

The Beauty feature adjusts and applies a softened filter to the subject. This feature also enhances a person’s image by reducing facial imperfections.

The Beauty feature applies to 720P, 480P and 1080P30 settings.

To use the Beauty feature:

1. Press Beauty in the vertical sidebar.
2. To adjust the enhancement level, move the bar up to enhance the subject.

Exposure feature

The Exposure feature allows a user to adjust the exposure setting for the content. This feature is set to Auto by default.

To adjust the exposure:

1. Press Exposure in the vertical sidebar.
2. Tap Auto to display the Manual setting. Use the adjustment bar to adjust the exposure setting.
3. To reset the exposure setting, press Reset.

Transmission feature

The Trannsmission feature allows users to adjust the bitrate and delay during a live transmission.

To use the Transmission feature:

1. When the transmission is Live, press Transmission in the vertical sidebar. The setting bar displays.

2. Adjust the Delay and Bitrate sliders.
3. Tap Reset to return to the original settings.

MIC feature

The MIC feature allows for the manual selection of the source microphone.

To use the MIC feature:

1. Press MIC in the vertical sidebar. The MIC setting bar displays.

2. Select the MIC type, Exterior, Built-in, or Bluetooth.

Advanced settings

This section explains TVU Anywhere advanced features in the Setting menu and how to use them.

Advanced features

Settings information about your device, video, audio, recording, NTP, IS+, external devices, and DJI can be accessed from the Setting menu.

It is recommended that you review your settings and enable the features you would like to use by moving the slider to the right until it turns green.

To access the Setting menu:

1. Press the Setting icon in the feature bar.

To set the resolution and frame rate for your transmission:

1. In the Video panel, set the Resolution and Frame Rate that is optimal for the transmission.
2. Enable or disable any other video related features for the transmission.

3. Swipe the menu upward to access the Audio, Record, and MISC settings.
4. To use the Partyline feature, enable the appropriate mic features in the Audio panel.

• This audio option allows users to use audio capturing for live transmission to a receiver. It can capture only the phone camera, and also mix the IFB (TVU Voice) audio in the capture, or audio that comes from Partyline if Partyline is enabled.

5. In the Record panel enable the appropriate features.

• When enabling metadata, it adds metadata information to the recorded videos. It can be helpful for TVU Search or other purposes that require identifying what the video is about.

6. In the MISC panel, enable the appropriate features.
7. The Theme setting is automatically set to the theme you have chosen. To change Themes, disable the default setting and follow the prompts.

8. In the Extrnal Devices panel, enable the appropriate settings. Refer to the specific External device procedures for setting up your device.
9. The About panel provides your device, PID, and UUID information. tap the User Guide link to display an overview of the DJI and professional camera support you can use with TVU Anywhere.

Creating a hotspot connection to a TVU Pack

Complete the following steps to create a hotspot connection to a TVU Pack using the TVU Anywhere app:

1. Launch the TVU Anywhere app.
2. Tap the TVU One screen and swipe to the left until you see the QR Code screen.

3. Press the Scan icon in the TVU Anywhere app. Orient the QR code inside the app’s crop marks and press the Scan icon again.

Apple Center Stage integration

This feature allows operator-less Live Video Production with Apple Center Stage.

Users can Live stream from their iPad Pro using the built-in hardware and bring quality to a mobile broadcast or live video production.

TVU Anywhere broadcasting app enhances iPad live streams with integrated AI-based technology that automatically recognizes and tracks the subject as he or she moves.

The Apple Center Stage feature for the iPad Pro with M1 chip, integrated within TVU Anywhere via API, frees on-screen subjects from the constraints of remaining in a fixed position, greatly improving the professionalism of a single-person live video production.

The technology also reacts if an additional subject enters the shot (such as an interviewee) by automatically zooming out to capture the additional subjects and zooming back in again when the interview is completed. No external controls are required to operate Center Stage in TVU Anywhere.

TVU Anywhere DJI integration

This section describes additional TVU Anywhere applications, including:

• Enabling TVU Anywhere for use with DJI drones.
• Using the TVU Token feature.
• Pairing the TVU Anywhere app with a registered receiver using the TVU One QR code menu

Enabling TVU Anywhere for use with supported DJI drones

TVU Anywhere app (version 6.2.4.291 or later) supports the transmission of videos from a DJI drone. This section introduces the methods for connection, disconnection, and registration. If you have any questions, contact TVU Support at +1.650.440.4812.

The new TVU Anywhere Theme provides an overview of the DJI Drone support.

ATTENTION: DJI account registration is required when using a DJI drone in China.

DJI account registration and bound are required when using a DJI Drone in China. Failure to do so will result in the Drone’s video being unable to work with the TVU Anywhere app. You can go to the DJI official China website to register your DJI account using your phone number (do not use your e-mail address) as shown in the “DJI registration example (China).” The account information will be used when the device is active and will bind the DJI device to the TVU Anywhere app.

Supported DJI drone models and TVU Anywhere platforms

TVU Anywhere platforms:

• Hardware: iPhone 7 and above
• Software: iOS 10 and above

Supported DJI Drone (iOS based on DJI SDK 4.16.2):

• Mavic Pro
• Mavic Air 2
• Inspire1

Supported DJI Drone (Android, based on DJI SDK v5.14.0):

• DJI Mini 4 pro
• DJI Mini 3 Pro
• DJI Mini 3

Note: TVU Anywhere is not compatible with drone controller models that have an embedded display.

Using TVU Anywhere with a DJI drone

To use the TVU Anywhere app with the supported DJI drone, complete the following steps:

1. Download and install the latest version of TVU Anywhere app to your phone.
2. Turn on the DJI drone and drone controller.

Note: You may test the drone and controller with the DJI Go app.

3. Connect the USB cable to the iPhone and drone controller. Then, launch the TVU Anywhere app.
4. Enable the DJI device in the TVU Anywhere app.

Note: Video will automatically switch from the drone to the TVU Anywhere app once enabled. If the screen on the TVU Anywhere app does not display, make sure your DJI device is enabled in the TVU Anywhere app.

5. If you are operating the DJI drone in China, verify that the DJI account is activated and bound. Click Sign in DJI and enter the account password for binding and activating, as shown below.

The Binding and application activation states will display as “Bound” and “Activated” if the operation succeeds, as shown below.

Using the Partyline capability feature

The Producer Partyline capability feature integrates with TVU Anywhere app version 9.0.42 and later. Partyline provides video conferencing capabilities between multiple participants or remote participants in a live production. By using the TVU Anywhere app, all participants (or talent personnel) can video conference with each other.

A production initiator sends the TVU Anywhere app user a web link in the field to pair their device to the Partyline session. The Participants can see a return feed on the main screen indicating what is being broadcast.

The Partyline capability feature uses Real Time Interactive Layer (RTIL) technology to provide video conferencing capabilities for remote live production. For more information, refer to the TVU Producer Partyline Quick Start User Guide.

Step 1 – Download and install the TVU Anywhere app onto your iOS smart mobile device

The TVU Anywhere app is available free of charge from the App store. To download and register the TVU Anywhere app, complete the following steps:

1. From your mobile device, go to the App Store and enter TVU Anywhere Pro in the search field. Download and install the iOS TVU Anywhere Version 9.0.43 and later to your smartphone or laptop.
2. Go to your Applications folder and launch the TVU Anywhere app.

3. Press the double arrows to open the feature bar.
4. Press the Information icon.

5. Locate and write down your device PID displayed in the pop-up window.

6. Contact TVU Support to complete your registration. You will need to provide the following information:

• The device PID
• The receiver(s) name and PID

7. After the PID is successfully registered, you are now ready to begin streaming.

On Mac OS

Download and install the TVU Anywhere app version 9.0.0b111 or later to your Mac OS device.

Download and install the TVU Anywhere app onto your Android device

The TVU Anywhere app is available free of charge from the Google Play Store. To download and register the TVU Anywhere app, complete the following steps:

1. From your mobile device, click the Google Play icon and enter TVU Anywhere in the search field. Then, download and install the TVU Anywhere app version 9.0.42 and later on your smartphone.
2. Go to your Applications folder and launch the TVU Anywhere app. Note that the TVU Anywhere app icon will not denote “Pro.”

3. Press the double arrows to open the feature bar.
4. Press the Info icon.

5. Locate and write down your device PID displayed in the pop-up window.

6. Contact TVU Support to complete your registration. You will need to provide the following information:

• The device PID
• The receiver(s) name and PID

7. After the PID is successfully registered, you are now ready to begin streaming.

Step 2 – Create or Participate in the party

The Partyline feature allows users to join or create a Partyline session.

Note: You will be prompted to sign in with your user credentials to create a new party. Anyone can join a party without signing in.

Create a Party

To create a new a party:

1. Press the Partyline icon.

2. Press the Create New Party button and log in to Partyline with your user credentials.

Participate using the TVU Anywhere app

The remote participant can now see this user interface on the TVU Anywhere app and can engage in a video conference with all other remote participants on the Partyline.

1. Click the switch button To reverse the front and rear camera views on your cell phone.
2. Click the camera ON to enable participants to see you. Click the camera OFF if you prefer not to be seen.
3. Click the Microphone button to control the On and Off function of the microphone. When you click the Microphone button to Off, you are active and participants cannot hear you.
4. Horizontally scroll the screen to view more participants.
5. PIP mode – Click PGM or a participant’s source to enlarge their window. The enlarged picture and your picture displays in PIP mode. Click the screen again to exit PIP mode.

Appendix A – TVU Token feature overview

Pairing your device via the Token feature

Before TVU Anywhere can go Live, it must first be paired with one or more receiving devices. These pairings can be created on a self-service basis by utilizing the Token feature.

A Token comes in a numeric or QR code generated by your TVU system administrator and provided to you. Entering this Token code will automatically pair your device with the appropriate TVU output receivers.

Important information about device settings

When using the TVU Anywhere app, set your device to the “Do not disturb” mode.

Important: Setting your device to the “Do not disturb” mode while you are using TVU Anywhere will keep your TVU Anywhere app from closing in the event you receive an incoming call.

Accepting a Token using the TVU Anywhere app

To accept a Token using the TVU Anywhere app, complete the following steps:

1. Obtain the Token code from your administrator.

2. To Scan or manually enter the Token code, open your TVU Anywhere app. Then, click the Scan icon in the receiver bar.

Note: There is a limit of 50 devices that can be used for each token QR code. You can accept the Token code using two methods. You may either scan a printed or displayed QR code, or enter the numeric token code manually. The manual method is highly recommended.

3. The Scan window displays. Enter the phone number and introduction information in the fields at the top of the screen. This step is optional but highly recommended. Press Next.

The scan window opens.

4. Continue with “Scan the Token QR code” or “Manually enter the Token code.”

Scan the Token QR code

To scan your Token code, complete the following steps:

1. Click the Scan icon in the function bar. Then, press the green Scan icon at the bottom of the Scan window.
2. Align the Token QR code inside of the green frame. The app reads the QR code. A ‘Success’ pop-up displays.

3. Your system administrator must approve your code before you can go Live.
4. To go live, click the Live icon in the function bar. Press the red Live button in the right panel if you use the new theme.

Manually enter the Token code

To manually enter the Token code, complete the following steps:

1. Click the Scan icon in the function bar. Then, select the Enter 123 icon.
2. Enter the phone number and introduction information in the fields at the top of the screen. This step is optional but highly recommended. Press Next.

3. Enter the Token code in the license field and click Apply. A ‘Success’ pop-up displays.
4. Your system administrator must approve your code before you can go Live.
5. To go live, click the Live icon in the function bar. Press the red Live button in the right panel if you are using the new theme.
6. The red Live indicator displays when live.

TVU Home overview

Note: This User Guide supports the TVU Home Beta version v1.0.104 and above.

TVU Home (beta) is a user-facing platform that anyone can sign in to and participate by using their TVU credentials. The Home landing page enables users to access services, recent objects (e.g., TVU services), and status. Users with owner roles can set up and manage groups and subgroups of users on the management dashboard. TVU Services and user roles can be assigned, managed, and monitored from this dashboard.

Users sign in to the TVU Home landing page and click the Manage > Members tab. They then navigate to their management dashboard to view all members assigned to their group or subgroup, with full editing rights to their own user information.

User role types

This (beta) version of TVU Home allows users to familiarize themselves with the TVU Home platform and explore the following basic features, controls, and functions based on the following four user role types.

Owner

The owner has administrative access to the members and groups they set up. Owners can set up user-level and sub-level groups, invite members, assign member roles, manage permissions, and monitor user-level TVU account content by group assignment. Tokens can be purchased, and token usage can be monitored from the management dashboard’s Billing tab.

Member

Within the Group workspace, a Member can view users and their assigned roles. Each group member can change their avatar (profile image), reset their password, and view which TVU services are assigned to them. In addition, the group member can quit at any time if desired.

Admin

The Admin role only has administrative access to Member users and the groups they set up.

Admin users can set up user-level and sub-level groups, invite members, assign member roles, manage permissions, and monitor user-level TVU account content by group assignment. As an Admin, you can add or remove users from your group, entitle a service, or revoke a user’s service from their management dashboard.

Finance

Finance users have only administrative rights to their accounts; they are not part of any other group. Tokens can be purchased, and token usage can be monitored from the Home management dashboard Billing tab.

TVU Home features

• TVU Home page – The TVU Home landing page allows users direct access to recent services such as TVU Producer, Partyline, Commentator, TVU Channel, and TVU Search without logging in to individual services. The Recent Objects panel displays the user’s account activity directly from the Home landing page.
• TVU Services navigation – Users can click the TVU Services navigation (waffle) icon to quickly open a service that is not currently displayed as a Recent Services icon on the Home landing page.
• Manage tab – The Manage tab has four sub-tabs:

Note: Sub-tabs that display are dependent on the users role assignment. Refer to the respective Quick Start chapter for more information.

• Members tab: The Members tab opens the Group management dashboard and displays controls based on the Owner, Member, Admin, or Finance user role type. For example, an Owner’s management dashboard will display different controls than the Member’s dashboard.
• Usage tab: Users can view their TVU Router usage, router status, and time usage history by product and service name.
• Resources tab: The Resources tab enables Agent device management, box pool folder set-up and configuration, and Agent software installation for authorized roles.
• Billing tab: The Billing tab is accessible to owners and finance users. TVU Home enables account owners and finance users to manage their TVU Token purchases, usage, and balances.

System requirements

Compatibility:

• iPad – Requires iPadOS 12.0 or later.
• Mac – Requires macOS 12.0 or later.
• Windows 8 and higher (Chrome browser)

Getting started

Any TVU account holder has free access to TVU Home. This Quick Start User Guide provides a section for each user role type and explains their respective management dashboard interface features and controls.

Note: Setting up Agent resources is the only paid feature in TVU Home.

TVU Home Quick Start Guide – Owner role

Signing in to TVU Home

There are two methods an account “Owner” can use to sign in to TVU Home:

• If you are signed in to a TVU service, click the Services (waffle) icon and select Home in the menu.
• Open a web browser and enter: https://home.tvunetworks.com

The Home login page will display.

Sign in with your account credentials:

1. Enter your email and password.
2. Click Sign in.

TVU Home – Landing page

The Welcome to TVU Home landing page is displayed when you successfully sign in to TVU Home.

The Home landing page for the owner role includes:

• TVU Home page: The TVU Home landing page allows users direct access to recent services such as TVU Producer, Partyline, Commentator, TVU Channel, and TVU Search without logging in to individual services. The Recent Objects panel displays the user’s account activity directly from the Home landing page.
• TVU Services navigation: Users can click the TVU Services navigation (waffle) icon to quickly open a service that is not currently displayed as a Recent Services icon on the Home landing page.
• Manage tab: Members and owners can use this tab as their primary tool to perform member and owner-related tasks. Click the Manage tab to access the Members, Resources, and Billing tabs.

Dashboard interface – Owner controls

Account owners have administrative rights to their members’ accounts. Account owners can:

• Manage a group and a subgroup workspace
• View Usage time, storage status, and router usage.
• Add users and sub-users
• Add resources and services
• Invite new members
• Assign roles to each member
• Add members to other subgroups
• Delete or disable a member’s access
• Authorize, manage, and monitor a member’s TVU services
• Purchase tokens
• Add Agent devices to Cloud services

Members tab controls

The Members tab opens the Group management page. When you sign in as an account owner, you can manage your members on the Group page by clicking the Manage > Members tab.

Note: A group can have multiple owners.

The Members tab allows you to:

• Edit your Group Name and add group information
• Add a new user
• Add a profile picture (avatar)
• Add subgroup workspaces
• Add a domain to your group
• Assign roles to sub-users
• Manage all aspects of your group

Updating your Group information

To update your Group information:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.

2. The Group management dashboard will display.

3. Click the edit icon below the Group name.

4. The Edit Group Information page opens.
5. Enter a Group Name and page Description.

6. To update your Profile picture, hover your mouse over the picture and click the Edit icon.

7. The Add Profile Picture pop-up will display.

8. Drag or Upload a 1:1 image in png, gif, or jpeg format.
9. Click the green check mark to save your Avatar picture.

10. Click the green Confirm button.
11. Scroll down to the Authorized Services panel and select the Optional Services that apply or disable services.

12. Click the green Confirm button.

Adding a user to your group

To add a user to your group:

1. Select your Group Name in the left panel.

2. Highlight (You) in the user list.
3. Click the edit icon in the Operation column.

4. The Edit User Information window opens.
5. Enter a User Name, Email address, and Password.

6. If you want to add the new user to an existing subgroup, click the Subgroup edit icon and make a selection.
7. Scroll down to the Authorized Services panel and select the Optional Services you want to assign to the new user.

8. Click the green Confirm button.

Creating a subgroup

When you create a subgroup, it becomes part of your group workspace. You can invite group members as sub-users into this workspace and assign roles to each user.

To create a subgroup:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.
2. Hover your mouse over Subgroup, then click the Plus.

3. The Create a subgroup window will display.
4. Enter a subgroup name, your email domain name (if you want to assign a domain to the subgroup), and a description of your subgroup (optional).

5. Click Confirm.
6. The new subgroup is displayed under your Group name.

7. To configure and manage Subgroups, click Subgroup in the left panel to open the Subgroup page.
8. All Subgroups will display.

9. Click the Edit icon in the Operation column to edit and manage a Subgroup.

10. The Edit User Information window will display.
11. Configure the Subuser’s information, then click Confirm.
12. When finished, click ‹— Edit User Information at the top of the page to return to the Subgroup page.
13. To remove a Subgroup member, click the checkbox next to the Member’s name, then click the red Remove button.

Inviting users to your group

After you have created your subgroups, you can invite users to your group and subgroups.

Note: The invitation procedure only accepts users with an active TVU account.

To invite a user to your group:

1. Click to highlight your Group name.

2. Click the Invite button.

3. The Invite window will display.
4. Enter the user’s Email address you want to invite to your group, then click Send Invitation.

5. The dashboard will display the invited user and a “Pending Invitation” notification in the dashboard status column until accepted.
6. The owner can cancel the invitation by clicking the green Cancel Invitation in the Operation column.

7. The invited user receives an email to accept the invitation. After accepting the invitation, the TVU Home page will open. The new user clicks the Bell icon at the top-right of the page to complete the process, then clicks the Join or Ignore button.

After joining the group, the user’s name is displayed in the user list. Users can click the edit icon on the Groups page to edit their user information.

Note: The group owner receives a Bell icon notification when the user has joined the group.

Adding a role to the new user

Owners can assign a Member or Admin role to a new user. The Admin role allows co-admin rights, whereas the Member role does not.

To add a role to the new user, click the user’s Role drop-down menu and select Admin or Member.

Note: Choosing Admin allows the user administrative rights.

Adding members to other subgroups

To add a user to a subgroup:

1. Click the three-dot icon and select Add to other subgroup.

2. Select the Subgroup checkbox in the Add to Subgroup window, then click Confirm.

Deleting or disabling a member’s access

To delete or disable a user in a group:

1. Click the three-dot icon and select Disable or Delete member from the menu.

2. If you need to batch Enable or Disable a group of users, select each user’s checkbox and click the Disable or Enable button.

Authorizing, managing, and monitoring a member’s services

As a group owner, you can authorize access to services and manage group and subgroup users from the Manage > Members tab. Users and their activity are easily monitored and sorted, and they can be exported in Excel format by clicking the Export button.

Usage tab

The Usage tab displays the Usage time overview, Storage status, and TVU Router Usage.

Resources tab

The Resources tab allows users to manage an Agent device, set up and configure a box pool folder, and install Agent software.

Note: A box pool folder can store multiple boxes, each of which is a physical device where the user has installed the Agent software.

The Resources tab allows Agent software to be installed on a device. The Agent integrates with MediaHub instead of using cloud-based resources. The agent can be installed on a user’s resource to run programs.

Adding resources and services

The Resources tab is where Owners can create Box pool folders and view, add, configure, and manage Agent devices.

To add resources and services:

1. Click the Manage > Resources tab.
2. The Resources page opens.

3. To add a new box pool folder, click the Plus.

4. The Create a new box pool window will display.
5. Enter a box pool name and click Create.

6. Your new box pool folder is added to the Agent Devices list.
7. To delete a box pool, click the Delete button.
8. To rename the box pool, click the Edit button.

9. The Edit box pool window will display.
10. Enter a new box pool name and click Confirm.

Adding Agent devices to Cloud services

IMPORTANT: You can only select a device as BYOR in Mediahub after the Agent is successfully installed on it.

After your agent is fully installed, you can configure it by performing the following steps and use it in MediaHub by selecting BYOR under Resources.

To download and install the Agent:

1. Click the Manage > Resources tab. Click Installation Guide.

2. The Agent installation guide pop-up window will display.

3. Review the Installation Quick Guide TVU Agent tutorial.
4. Click the Copy script button and paste the script into your Linux Command line. Run the script to install the Agent on your device.
5. To obtain the Installation key, click the Copy key button.
6. To Reset the key and script, click the Reset Installation Key & Script button.

Port mapping

To map your box pool in TVU Home:

1. Click the Manage > Resources tab.
2. The Resources page opens.
3. Click the Box pool that requires mapping.

4. Click the Box pool checkbox that requires mapping in the Box Pool.

5. Click the + Add button.

Billing tab

The billing tab allows owner users to:

• Set up a user billing group
• Purchase tokens
• Edit billing information
• Review token purchase history, consumption, and recent TVU Producer and MediaHub activity
• View the total remaining token balance
• View token transaction history
• View the token expiration date
• View Active commitments

User billing group set up

New users will set up their own Billing group when they initially purchase their tokens.

Note: Users must first sucessfully set up a Billing group to purchase tokens. Once the billing group is set up, users can access their Token management page to perform subsequent token related tasks.

To set up your user billing group:

1. Click the Manage > Billing tab.
2. The Token management page will display.

3. Click Buy More in the Purchases History panel.

4. The Billing info pop-up window will display.
5. Enter all required information, click Save, then continue to “Purchasing tokens.”

Editing your billing information

To edit your user billing information:

1. Click the Manage > Billing tab.
2. The Token management page will display.

3. Click the edit billing icon to edit your billing information before purchasing tokens.

Purchasing tokens

1. After setting up a user billing group, the TVU Tokens page will display.
2. Click the Order now button to select the basic package.

Note: Click the Contact Us button If you would like to purchase a token package that is not displayed.

3. Select the package quantity, click Add to cart, then View cart.

4. The Order overview page will display.
5. Click Checkout.

6. The Extra info page will display.
7. If desired, enter your Sales reference in the Your Reference field. All other fields are optional.

8. Click Continue checkout.
9. The Confirm order page will display.
10. Click the Billing edit icon to enter the Billing address associated with your chosen payment method.

11. Make your changes on the Address page, then click Confirm.

12. Click Continue checkout to return to the Confirm order page.
13. Select your payment method, then click Pay now.
14. Your order is processed, and then the payment confirmation page will display.
15. Click Home on the top navigation panel to return to the TVU Home window.

16. Refresh the Billing page.
17. Your purchase will be displayed in the Purchase History panel and added to the Total Remaining Balance panel.

Transferring tokens

Users can transfer tokens to pre-defined users. Token owners must contact TVU Support to configure token transfers.

To transfer tokens:

1. Click the Transfer Token icon at the top of the Token Management panel.

2. The Transfer Tokens window will display.
3. Enter the group payee account in the To field.
4. In the Transfer amount field, enter a token quantity.
5. Click the Confirm button.

TVU Home Quick Start Guide – Member role

Signing in to TVU Home

There are two methods “Members” can use to sign in to TVU Home:

• If you are signed in to a TVU service, click the Services (waffle) icon and select Home in the menu.
• Open a web browser and enter: https://home.tvunetworks.com

The Home login page will display.

Sign in with your account credentials:

1. Enter your email and password.
2. Click Sign in.

TVU Home – Landing page

The Welcome to TVU Home landing page is displayed when you successfully sign in to TVU Home.

The Home landing page for a Member role includes:

• TVU Home page: The TVU Home landing page allows users direct access to recent services such as TVU Producer, Partyline, Commentator, TVU Channel, and TVU Search without logging in to individual services. The Recent Objects panel displays the user’s account activity directly from the Home landing page.
• TVU Services navigation: Users can click the TVU Services navigation (waffle) icon to quickly open a service that is not currently displayed as a Recent Services icon on the Home landing page.
• Manage tab: Members and owners can use this tab as their primary tool to perform member-related tasks. Click the Manage tab to access the Members, Usage, and Resources tabs.
• Members tab: The Members tab opens the Group management dashboard and displays controls based on the Members user role type.
• Usage tab: Users can view their TVU Router usage, router status, and time usage history by product and service name.
• Resources tab: The Resources tab enables Agent device management, box pool folder set-up and configuration, and Agent software installation for authorized roles. A box pool folder can store multiple boxes, each of which is a physical device on which you have installed the Agent software.

Dashboard interface – Member controls

Group members have administrative rights to their own account.

A Member user can:

• View all users in their group and their status.
• Modify their profile picture (avatar), reset the password, and edit user information.
• View Usage time, storage status, and router usage.
• View authorized basic and optional TVU Services.
• Quit the group.
• View active and inactive Agent devices.
• Add and view active and inactive box pools.

Members tab controls

The Members tab opens the Group Management page. When you sign in as a member user, you can view your group’s members on the Group workspace page.

Note: A Member’s dashboard will display different controls than the Owner role.

The Members tab allows you to:

• Edit your user name
• Add or change your profile picture (avatar)
• Update your Email address
• Reset your Password
• View group member roles and status
• Quit the group

Updating your user information

To update your user information:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.

2. The Group management dashboard will display.

3. Click the edit icon in the Operation column.

4. The Edit User Information page opens.
5. Enter a User Name, update your Email, or reset your Password. You may add additional profile information by clicking More to expand the panel.

6. To update your Profile picture, hover your mouse over the picture and click the Edit icon.

7. The Add Profile Picture pop-up will display.

8. Drag or Upload a 1:1 image in png, gif, or jpeg format.
9. Click the green check mark to save your Avatar picture.

10. Click the green Confirm button.
11. Scroll down to the Authorized Services panel and select the Optional Services that apply as a member.

Quitting the group

As a Member user, you can quit the group.

To quit the Group:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.

2. Your Group management page will display.
3. Hover your mouse over the three-dot icon and click Quit the current group.

Search and filter displayed content

You can search by user name and filter what is displayed by making a selection in the Role and Status drop-down menus.

Usage tab

Click the Manage > Usage tab. The Usage tab displays the Usage time overview, Storage status, TVU Router usage, and TVU MediaHub usage.

Click View More in the TVU Router Usage panel to display the Router usage details.

Click View More in the TVU MediaHub Usage panel to display the MediaHub usage details.

Resources tab

The Resources tab allows users to manage an Agent device, set up and configure a box pool folder, and install Agent software.

Note: A box pool folder can store multiple boxes, each of which is a physical device where the user has installed the Agent software.

The Resources tab allows Agent software to be installed on a device. The Agent integrates with MediaHub instead of using cloud-based resources. The agent can be installed on a user’s resource to run programs.

Dashboard interface – Admin controls

The Admin role has administrative rights to members’ accounts, similar to owners. However, admins can’t edit an Owner role.

• Invite new members
• Assign roles to each member
• Add members to other subgroups
• Remove members from subgroups
• Delete or disable a member’s access
• Authorize, manage, and monitor a member’s TVU services
• Add Agent devices to Cloud services

Members tab controls

The Members tab opens the Group management page. When you sign in as an account Admin, you can manage your members on the Group page by clicking the Manage > Members tab.

Note: Admin’s cannot edit Owner users.

The Members tab allows you to:

• Edit your Group Name and add group information
• Add a profile picture (avatar)
• Add subgroup workspaces
• Add a new subgroup user
• Add a domain to your group
• Assign roles to sub-users
• Manage all aspects of your group

Updating your Group information

To update your Group information:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.

2. The Group Management dashboard will display.

3. Click the edit icon below the Group name.

4. The Edit Group Information page opens.
5. Enter a Group Name and page Description.

6. To update your Profile picture, hover your mouse over the picture and click the Edit icon.

7. The Add Profile Picture pop-up will display.

8. Drag or Upload a 1:1 image in png, gif, or jpeg format.
9. Click the green check mark to save your Avatar picture.

10. Click the green Confirm button.
11. Scroll down to the Authorized Services panel and select the Optional Services that apply or disable services.

12. Click the green Confirm button.

Editing a user’s information

To edit a user’s information:

1. Select your Group Name in the left panel.

2. Highlight (a user) in the user list.
3. Click the edit icon in the Operation column.

4. The Edit User Information window opens.
5. Enter any required edits.

6. If you want to add the new user to an existing subgroup, click the Subgroup edit icon and make a selection.
7. Scroll down to the Authorized Services panel and select the Optional Services you want to assign to the user.

8. Click the green Confirm button.

Creating a subgroup

When you create a subgroup, it becomes part of your group workspace. You can invite group members as sub-users into this workspace and assign roles to each user.

To create a subgroup:

1. Click the Manage > Members tab.
2. Hover your mouse over Subgroup, then click the Plus.

3. The Create a subgroup window will display.
4. Enter a subgroup name, your Email Domain Name (if you want to assign a domain to the subgroup), and a description of your subgroup (optional).

5. Click Confirm.
6. The new subgroup is displayed under your Group name.

7. To configure and manage Subgroups, click Subgroup in the left panel to open the Subgroup management page.
8. All Subgroups will display.

9. Click the Edit icon in the Operation column to edit and manage a Subgroup.

10. The Edit User Information window will display.
11. Configure the Subuser’s information, then click Confirm.
12. When finished, click ‹— Edit User Information at the top of the page to return to the Subgroup page.
13. To remove a Subgroup member, click the checkbox next to the Member’s name, then click the red Remove button.

Inviting users to your group

After you have created your subgroups, you can invite users to your group and subgroups.

Note: The invitation procedure only accepts users with an active TVU account.

To invite a user to your group:

1. Click to highlight your Group name.

2. Click the Invite button.

3. The Invite window will display.
4. Enter the user’s Email address you want to invite to your group, then click Send Invitation.

5. The dashboard will display the invited user and a “Pending Invitation” notification in the dashboard status column until the invitation is accepted.
6. The owner can cancel the invitation by clicking the green Cancel Invitation in the Operation column.

7. The invited user receives an email to accept the invitation. After accepting the invitation, the TVU Home page will open. The new user clicks the Bell icon at the top-right of the page, then clicks the Join or Ignore button to complete the process.

After joining the group, the user’s name is displayed in the user list. Users can click the edit icon on the Groups page to edit their user information.

Note: The group admin receives a Bell icon notification when the user has joined the group.

Adding a role to the new user

Owners can assign a new user a Member or Admin role. The Admin role allows co-admin rights, whereas the Member role does not.

To add a role to the new user, click the user’s Role drop-down menu and select Admin or Member.

Note: Choosing Admin allows the user administrative rights.

Adding members to other subgroups

To add a user to a subgroup:

1. Click the three-dot icon and select Add to other subgroup.

2. Select the Subgroup checkbox in the Add to Subgroup window, then click Confirm.

Deleting or disabling a member’s access

To delete or disable a user in a group:

1. Click the three-dot icon and select Disable or Delete member from the menu.

2. If you need to batch Enable or Disable a group of users, select each user’s checkbox and click the Disable or Enable button.

Authorizing, managing, and monitoring a member’s services

As a group Admin, you can authorize access to services and manage group and subgroup users from the Manage > Members tab. Users and their activity are easily monitored and sorted, and they can be exported in Excel format by clicking the Export button.

Click the Manage > Usage tab. The Usage tab displays the Usage time overview, Storage status, TVU Router usage, and TVU MediaHub usage.

The Review solution enables officials and coaches to watch the game and immediately “review” any close call from their Mac or iPad Pro. TVU Review provides all production elements necessary to output clips to any device. The app is as simple to operate as any smartphone interface.

Users access their content from a cloud-based Review Workbench where sessions are stored and easily accessed. Workbench sessions can contain several replay clips. Sources can also be uploaded into the Workbench from a production studio, eliminating the need for a live camera. The referee can view the session from any location using an iPad Pro or a Mac device.

Users can control the frame speed in Replay and Review with their fingers on a tablet’s touchscreen or by using a video game controller on a laptop. By replacing purpose-built replay hardware with a video game controller, we’re opening the door to a new, potential talent base.

TVU Review features

TVU Replay and TVU Review architecture

The Replay and Review architecture is fully cloud-based with no hardware requirement on site. The IP Video Source is sent to a cloud receiver, which records the video signals. Content automatically uploads to the cloud storage drive, and then the Review and Replay solutions will use that recorded video however the user desires.

IP sources can be prerecorded clips from a production source or output from a TVU device.

• Support for smart mobile devices – TVU Replay and Review supports iPad Pro and Mac OS devices.

Before you begin

You must download, install, and register the TVU Review App. Refer to your appropriate procedure to:

Download and install the TVU Review app

Step 1 – Installing the TVU Review app on your Mac OS or iPad Pro smart mobile device

The TVU Review app is available free of charge from the app store. To download the TVU Review app, complete the following steps:

1. Go to the App Store from your mobile device and enter TVU Review in the search field.
2. Download and install the app on your smartphone.

Step 2 – Mac OS or iPad Pro smart mobile device account registration

You must sign up to register your TVU Review account. To finalize your account registration, complete the following steps:

1. Go to your Applications and launch the TVU Review app.
2. The Welcome screen displays.

3. Press the Sign In/Sign Up button.

4. Press the Sign Up button and enter the required information.
5. Press the Sign in or Get Started Now button.

TVU Review tool solution

TVU Review accepts any IP source and plays back frame synchronized (when synchronized in the cloud receiver).

• Outsource video anywhere.
• Access content from a cloud-based Review Workbench where your program sessions are stored. Sessions can contain several replay clips.
• Review is a Multi-source video playback solution designed for referees to adjudicate games.
• Receive production studio sources. There is no need for a live camera on site.
• When using a TVU device, the IP source is 100% frame synchronized.

Step 1 – TVU Review getting started

To get started with TVU Review, complete the following steps:

1. Launch the TVU Review app and Sign In.

The Welcome screen allows users to:

• Share their content via QR code with collaborators of their choosing. Collaborators tap the [-] Scan button to access shared content.
• Tap the Show Demo link to watch a TVU Review demo.
• Enter the Workbench to create and access programs.

2. Tap the Workbench button.

3. The Workbench screen displays. You will create, store, select, and organize your programs.

• Continue to Step 2 to create a program.
• Continue to “Review Workbench interface features” to explore program features.

Step 2 – Create a Program

To create a program, complete the following steps:

1. Tap Create a Program in the Workbench interface.

2. Enter a program name and tap Next to choose your settings.

3. Choose a video Format. Input sources should use the same format.

4. Enable your features:

• Automatic Recording Task Initialization – Enable this feature to start recording automatically when an input source is detected.
• RPS – Enable this feature when production is reserved with RPS sources only.

5. Select your Region.

6. Tap Save. Your new program is displayed in Workbench.

Workbench interface features

The TVU Review Workbench enables users to set up collaborators, filter, and display their programs by type, title, last edited, or last created.

Filtering your programs

1. Make a selection from the All drop-down menu. This menu allows users to display programs created by TVU Producer, Anywhere, Commentator and Search. The default is All.

2. The Filter drop-down menu allows users to sort and display their projects by Title, Last edited, or Last created.

Collaborator feature

The Collaborator feature enables other Review account users to share administrative access to programs and sessions.

To add collaborators to your production, complete the following steps:

1. To add collaborators to your production, tap the Collaborator icon at the top of the screen.

2. Select the program checkboxes you want to share.

3. Tap the green Done button, enter the Collaborator’s email, set the Collaborator’s Controls, and tap Save.

4. Tap the three-dot icon and select Add Collaborators. The Add Collaborator window opens.

5. Enter the Collaborator’s email associated with a registered Replay account and tap Send.

Program settings menu

Each program can have its unique settings. To access the program Setting menu, complete the following steps:

1. Tap the program and the three dots “…” at the top-right of the program preview.

• Rename – Tap Rename to change the name of your program.
• Add Collaborators – Tap Add Collaborators to add Collaborators to your program.
• Setting – Tap Setting to open the program Settings menu.
• Monitor – Tap Monitor to display your program in its default state (Monitor mode with no preview).
• Delete – Tap Delete to remove a program from Workbench.

2. Tap the Start button to Start a program.

3. Once TVU Review has launched, the Review interface will be displayed. Then, continue with the user experience, features, and behaviors.

TVU Review interface controls and functions

The TVU Review interface has the following operational controls and functions.

(1) Sharing tab: The Sharing tab opens a QR code that can be copied and sent to other account users to share specific content.
(2) Tagging tab: Users can use the Tagging tab to add a tag to their recorded session.
(3) Recording tab: The Recording tab opens the Recording Profile menu, where users enter a file name, set the parameters for the recorded session, and start the recording process.
(4) Program name: This field displays the name of the active Program.
(5) Icon Only button: Tap the Icon Only button to change tabs to icons.
(6) Source panel: Tap the source preview box or QR code to add sources
(7) User Preferences icon: Tap the User Preferences icon to change Languages, access the Shortcut List, change the Theme, and Sign Out of TVU Review.

Important: Stop all programs before signing out. Refer to (9).

(8) TVU Services panel icon: Tap the TVU Services icon to open another cloud service account, such as TVU Producer. The selected program opens in a new tab.

(9) Stop program button: Tap this icon to end the program and return to the Workbench.

Recording tab

The Recording tab lets users set up a custom Recording Profile or use the defaults before recording content. Recorded content resides on the cloud server, which users can access as a source.

To set up a recording profile and start recording a video, complete the following steps:

1. Launch the TVU Review app, tap Workbench, and open a project.
2. Tap the Recording tab on the TVU Review interface.
3. Enter a File Name and select a Recording Format from the drop-down menu.
4. Enter a Video Bitrate and select an Audio Bitrate from the drop-down menu.

5. Enter a Segment Duration for your recording and tap the Start Recording button.

6. To stop recording, tap the Recording tab -> Stop recording button.
7. Access your recorded session by tapping Add Source -> Recording Service.

Tagging tab

The Tagging feature enables users to add a tag name to help identify and organize source content.

To add a tag name, complete the following steps:

1. Select a source from the source panel.
2. Tap the Tagging tab.
3. Enter a Tag Name and tap the Tag button.

4. To access the tag list, tap the Tag button from the Review mode interface. A list of created tags is displayed.

Sharing tab

Using the Sharing feature, users can share their recorded content with other Review or Replay operators or receive shared content.

To share content, complete the following steps:

1. Select a source and tap the Sharing tab OR tap the Sharing tab and select a source from the QR code drop-down menu.
2. Tap Copy. Paste and send the copied code to a recipient.
3. The recipient scans the code to add the source to their source panel.

Adding Sources

TVU Review account users can add sources to their Review app using the following methods:

• Scanning a QR code
• Adding a source from the Workbench
• Obtain a source from the Recording Service

Launch the TVU Review app and Sign in to your account. The Welcome screen displays:

1. If you have a QR code to scan, tap the Scan button to scan a QR code.

2. Tap the Workbench button, open a project, and tap an Add Source preview box on the TVU Review User interface.

3. Select a source type in the left menu or tap +add and follow the prompts.

Operational controls and behaviors – Review mode

The Review mode interface displays the started program sessions. The following image shows a multi-camera feed.

The TVU Review mode has the following operational controls and behaviors.

(1) Layout button: The layout button enables users to hold and drag a source to rearrange the layout of the displayed sessions.
(2) Session preview: Session previews.
(3) Setting icon: The Setting icon opens the settings menu.
The Setting menu selections are:

• Playback Speed – Opens the Playback-speed bar and displays a clip’s playback speed.

• Frame-by-Frame Speed – Opens the Frame-speed bar and displays a clip’s frame-by-frame speed.

• Multi-Camera View Speaker – This icon mutes or unmutes the session audio. This feature allows the user to create and add commentary over a clip.
• Advanced Settings – This opens Advanced settings for Account information, Advanced Features, Keyboard shortcuts, MIDI devices Setup, Developers, and About selections. Refer to “Advanced Settings” for more information.

• Home – Returns to the Workbench.
• Version – Displays the software version.

(4) Enhance – Tap a preview and draw a square, then tap within the square to enhance the view in fullscreen mode.
(5) Tag – Use the tag feature to display the tag list or add a tag to a clip.

(6) Back to Live button – Tap the icon to jump to the end of the player bar.
(7) Frame seek button – Tap the Frame seek buttons to drag the frames from left to right to locate a preferred frame.
(8) Play / Pause clip icon – Play or pause a clip.
(9) Mark in/Out indicator bar – This bar indicates the clip is marked in and out.

Tag feature – Review mode

The Tag button in the Review mode enables users to add a descriptive tag to their clip.

To use the Tag feature, complete the following steps:

1. Select a file in the clip preview panel.
2. Tap the Tag button.
3. The Tag list opens.

4. To Add a tag, tap the Add Tag button.
5. Created tags display in the Tag list.

Enhance feature – Review mode

The Enhance button enables users to zoom in to an area of a clip’s frame to highlight a specific moment or action in fullscreen mode.

To use the Enhance feature, complete the following steps:

1. Tap the Enhance button.
2. Tap and hold a clip preview using two fingers. Move your fingers outward to zoom in on the clip.
3. Alternatively, tap a preview and draw a square, then tap within the square.

4. The clip becomes a fullscreen frame.

Advanced Settings

Tap the Settings -> Advanced settings to access Account information, Advanced Features, Keyboard shortcuts, MIDI devices Setup, Developers, and About menu selections.

Account information

The Account selection displays the user’s account information and allows a user to delete their TVU Review account.

Advanced features

The Advanced Features selection displays settings for switching between displaying the local time or the video time of a clip. Users can also assign a video time for their clip and configure a Fast Seek interval of up to 60 seconds.

Keyboard Shortcuts

The Keyboard Shortcut menu is used to assign hotkeys that correspond to the configured preferences set in the Developers page.

Developers

The Developers page displays a range of clip settings that can be enabled. Keyboard shortcut operations correspond to the preferences that are customized in this panel.

About

The About page displays the software version, the Cache used, and the device PID.

Producer integration overview

TVU Producer enables users to create replay clips from an active production and save them to the Replay App. You can use the Replay app to customize the highlights of a clip using Replays’ Mark-in and Mark-out features, add commentary, and make it available for production. Saved clips are selectable in the Producer Clip panel. Selecting a clip from the Producer Replay App tab -> Clip panel places it into the Replay preview window in Producer as a selectable source for the director to cut to PGM.

Creating a clip

To create a Replay clip from a Producer session, complete the following steps:

1. Log in to the TVU Replay app.
2. Sign in to your TVU Producer account. The Producer Workbench displays.

3. Mouse over the desired production and click the three dots “…” to open the Program Settings window.
4. Click the Replay App checkbox and click Save.

5. Mouse over the Project and click Start.

6. Wait for the project to initialize.

7. TVU Producer opens.
8. Click the +Add replay source window or the Replay App tab in the left panel. The Clip panel opens.
9. Use one of the two methods to authenticate your TVU Producer review session with TVU Replay:

• Authenticate yourself into the review session by selecting an active production in the producer UI; this requires a login.
• You can tap the [-] Scan button on the TVU Replay Welcome screen to log in, scan the QR code with your camera app, or access the URL at the bottom of the Producer review page to authenticate yourself to the producer session.

10. The Replay app displays the Producer video.
11. Tap the green Mark In button. The vertical bar indicates the marked-in state.

12. Tap the green Mark Out button.
13. To preview window plays the new clip, tap the Screen to stop the running preview.
14. Tap the circular icon(s) in the Add Clip panel to select which sources you want to save. The selected source icons display green.

15. Tap the Save clip button to save your selections as a clip, or tap the Cut to PGM button.
16. Saved clips are available in the Producer Replay App tab -> Clip panel.
17. Select the clip in the Clip panel to add it to the Replay source preview box as a source selection.

18. In the Clip panel, users can enable/disable the default bumper shot and upload their own custom bumper shots. For more information, refer to “Operational controls and functions.”

Using external controllers

Replay’s Advanced Settings enables users to customize hotkeys to integrate the Replay app with external controller replay functions.

To integrate Replay with an external controller, complete the following steps:

1. Open the Replay App.
2. Tap the Settings gear and select Advanced Settings from the drop-down menu.

3. The Advanced Settings window opens. Tap Developers and set the parameters for the operation(s) you want to execute.

4. Tap Keyboard Shortcuts and add them to the corresponding parameters you set on the Developers page. Then, Save the hotkeys.

TVU Replay – User experience, features, and behaviors

TVU Replay is a synchronized multi-view video player and is part of the TVU Networks’ media supply chain. Users can use TVU Replay to function as an instant replay clip generation in production, and it features:

• It integrates with TVU Producer to cut a clip to PGM or save it to the Replay App for further editing and customizing.
• Replay supports multiple source previews.
• It includes a clip macro and editor.

Step 1 – TVU Replay App Getting Started

To get started with TVU Replay, complete the following steps:

1. Launch the TVU Replay app and Sign In.

The Welcome screen allows users to:

• Tap the Show Demo link to watch a TVU Review demo.
• Enter the Workbench to create and access programs.
• Scan a QR code to access an active producer session.
  • Authenticate yourself into the review session by selecting an active production through the Producer UI; this requires a login.
  • To bypass the login, you can scan the QR code or access the URL on the Producer review page to authenticate yourself into the producer session.

2. Tap the Workbench button.

3. The Workbench screen displays. You will create, store, select, and organize your programs here.

• Continue to Step 2 to create a program.
• Continue to “Workbench interface features” to explore program features.

Step 2 – Create a program

1. Tap Create a Program.

2. Enter a program name and tap Next to choose your settings.

3. Choose a video Format. Input sources should use the same format.

4. Select the Replay App checkbox to enable Replay integration with TVU Producer.

6. If you need additional features, select them:

• RPS – Enable this feature to reserve the productions for RPS sources only.
• Partyline – Enable this feature to integrate a TVU Partyline session.
• Vertical – Select Vertical to preview sources in vertical mode.
• Output buffer – The Output buffer allows a time buffer (up to 300 seconds) between the live Output program and the actual video encoded for output.
• Follower mode – Enable this checkbox to define programs following this main program.
• Source delay control – Enable this checkbox to enable source latency control.
• Input Source Recording – Select which source you want to record. You can find recordings in Cloud Record -> Remote Recording.

7. Select your Region.

8. Tap Save. Your new program is displayed in Workbench.

The Settings -> Advanced settings menu enables users to access Account information, Advanced Features, Keyboard shortcuts, MIDI devices Setup, Developers, and About selections. Refer to the “Advanced Settings menu” topic for more information.

• Speaker – This icon can mute or unmute the session audio. This feature allows the user to create and add commentary over a clip.
• Tutorial – Displays a how-to-operate tutorial.

• Advanced Settings – Opens Advanced settings for Account information, Advanced Features, Keyboard shortcuts, MIDI devices Setup, Developers, and About selections. For more information, refer to the “Advanced Settings – “Adjusting the frame-by-frame playback speed” topic.

• Version – Displays the software version

(8) Add Clip panel: The Add Clip panel displays editing and configuration controls.
(9) Macro configuration panel: The Macro configuration panel enables users to customize several parameters within the macro to expedite playlist creation.
(10) Clip editing panel: Add clips to the clip editing panel to edit, add transitions, save a clip to the Producer clip panel, and cut your clips to PGM.
(0) Editor panel controls: Edit your clip using the six right-bottom buttons.

Playback Speed setting

To change the playback speed setting for your session, complete the following steps:

1. Tap the clip preview.
2. Tap the Setting icon and select Playback Speed.

3. Select a playback speed setting from the menu.

Adjusting the frame-by-frame playback speed

The frame-by-frame speed feature enables users to set the slow-motion playback speed of the selected frames.

Note: Refer to the Advanced Settings – Keyboard Shortcut topic to configure keyboard shorts for playback speed.

To use the frame-by-frame speed feature, complete the following steps:

1. Tap the Settings icon and select Frame-by-Frame Speed.
2. Select a frame speed in the frame speed bar to change the frame-by-frame Playback Speed.

3. Tap a frame; it is adjusted according to this speed setting.

Advanced Settings menu

The Settings -> Advanced settings menu enables users to access Account information, Advanced Features, Keyboard shortcuts, MIDI devices Setup, Developers, and About selections.

Advanced Settings – Keyboard Shortcuts

1. Tap the Settings gear and select Advanced Settings from the drop-down menu.

2. The Advanced Settings window opens. Tap Developers and set the parameters for the operation(s) you want to execute.

3. Tap Keyboard Shortcuts and add Keyboard Shortcuts to the corresponding parameters you set on the Developers page. Then, Save the hotkeys.

Slow-motion playback feature

The Slow-motion playback feature enables users to adjust the speed control of a marked clip. To use the slow-motion playback feature, complete the following steps:

1. Tap the Settings gear and select Advanced Settings from the drop-down menu.

2. Tap Keyboard Shortcuts and configure the keyboard shortcut parameter for the desired play speed.
3. Configure the T Bar Speed Control parameter and Save the hotkeys.

4. Tap Developers and set the corresponding parameters for the speed control you set in Keyboard Shortcuts.

5. Select a clip and tap the green Mark In button.

6. Tap the green Mark Out button.
7. Tap the circular icon(s) to the right of the marked file in the Add Clip panel to select which frame to apply the feature. The circular icons display green.
8. Press the keyboard shortcut you configured in step 2.

9. The selected frames are displayed below the preview, and the speed is displayed in the white box above the preview window.

Macro configuration panel

The Macro panel enables users to create and configure up to nine custom Macros to expedite their playlist creation. Macro buttons are displayed in the panel as [+].

There are several adjustable parameters in the macro configuration, as depicted in the screenshot below. Users can customize these parameters within the macro to expedite playlist creation. For instance, consider this screenshot: it demonstrates the generation of a playlist comprising two clips. The initial clip, sourced from slot1, is 10 seconds long with a 1.5-second dissolve transition and 1x playback speed. Similarly, the second clip, sourced from slot2, follows the same settings. By adjusting these parameters according to their preferences, users can streamline the playlist generation process.

To configure a macro, complete the following steps:

1. Open a session.
2. Select and hold one of the macro slot [+] buttons.
3. The Macro configuration panel opens.

4. Tap + Clip in the panel’s top-right to add clips to your Macro.

Note: Each clip can be configured with its own parameters.

5. Enter a Macro name.

6. Set the parameters for each clip:
   • Select the Slot number field and tap a preview in the left preview panel.
   • Set the Mark In and Mark Out parameters for the clip.

7. Select a Transition mode.

8. Select the Playback speed.
9. Save the clip.
10. Tap a macro button to preview the Macro playout.

11. The preview displays the parameters configured for the macro button selected.

Mark in and Mark out feature

Users can customize the clip output using the six bottom-right Replay buttons: Mark in, Mark out, Transition (orange), Cut to PGM, Save to Producer. Then, Output them to a program using a running TVU Producer instance.

To add markers to a clip, complete the following steps:

1. Select clips in the left clip preview panel.
2. Tap the Start icon to play a clip. Tap pause when you locate the beginning of the clip you want to save.
3. Tap the Mark In button. The vertical bar indicates the marked-in state in the clip editing panel.

4. To end the clip, tap the green Mark Out button.
5. If desired, tap the orange transition button to add a Dissolve, Cut, Iris in, or Iris Out transition to the marked clip.
6. Tap the circular icon(s) to the right of the marked file in the Add Clip panel to select which sources you want. The selected source icons display green.

7. Tap the Save clip button to save your selections as a clip in Producer, or tap Cut to PGM.
8. Saved clips are available in the Producer Replay App tab -> Clip panel.

Playlist preview feature

The Playlist preview feature enables users to reorder their marked sessions and save them as a single clip.

1. Select and mark your clips using the Mark In and Mark Out buttons.
2. Select the clips you want by tapping the circular icon in the Add Clips panel next to each marked session. The frame will be highlighted yellow.

3. Below the main preview window, you can select the highlighted frame and then drag and drop the frame into another location.
4. Use the Name field below the preview to rename your clip if desired.
5. Save the clip or Cut to PGM.

Parabola feature

The parabola feature helps you see how fast or slow your playlist is playing. You can adjust this speed using the play speed shortcut keys set up earlier. Every time you change the speed, the parabola on the playlist changes to show you the new speed setting visually.

To use the Parabola feature, complete the following steps:

1. Set up your keyboard shortcuts. Tap the Settings icon and select Advanced Settings from the drop-down menu.

2. Tap Keyboard Shortcuts and configure the desired Playback Speed shortcut parameters.

3. Tap Developers and set the T Bar-Speed Control parameter for the speed control you set in Keyboard Shortcuts.

4. Tap the Mark In and Mark Out button.
5. Select a range of clips. Selected clips are displayed with yellow highlighted frames. The playlist displays in the playlist preview.
6. Tap the T Bar-Control shortcut key to enable slow-motion adjustment for the clip.

7. Tap the Playback speed shortcut keys for the desired slow-motion setting. The Parabola will visually display the playlist’s slow motion.

TVU Anywhere Lite instantly turns your smartphone or tablet into a transmitter for high-quality live transmission and streaming from remote locations.

Introduction, setup, and base operation

TVU Anywhere Lite is a lightweight version of TVU Anywhere, which turns your phone into a powerful live video transmitter capable of delivering a broadcast-quality video picture from any location.

TVU Anywhere overview

Field reporters, remote news anchors, citizen journalists, and streamers can go live to their audience with the press of a button and cover news, events, interviews, and human interest stories. TVU Anywhere Lite uses all available cellular and WiFi connections together with TVU’s patented IS+ technology for a reliable picture no matter the transmission environment and utilizes HEVC/H.265 encoding for efficient data usage.

Compatibility

• iPhone – Requires iOS 12.0 or later.
• iPad – Requires iPadOS 12.0 or later.
• iPod touch – Requires iOS 12.0 or later.
• Apple Vision – Requires visionOS 1.0 or later.
• Android – Smartphones

Step 1 – Downloading and installing the TVU Anywhere Lite app

1. From your mobile device, click the Google Play icon or App Store icon and enter TVU Anywhere Lite in the search field. Download and install the TVU Anywhere Lite app onto your smartphone. TVU Lite supports iOS and Android smartphones.

Note: The TVU Anywhere Lite app has a different PID than the TVU Anywhere Pro version. You can install both versions on the same phone.

Note: This procedure applies to both Android and iOS devices.

2. Open the TVU Anywhere Lite app.
3. Press the Advanced (gear) icon to open Settings.

4. The settings window has three panels:

• Video
• Misc
• About

5. Scroll down to About.
6. Locate your device PID and press the copy icon.

7. Provide this PID number to TVU support at support@tvunetworks.com to connect you to the correct receiver.
8. Press the back “<” icon to return to the main screen.

Step 2 – Choose your registered receiver

1. Press the Select receiver or scan to pair bar to select a receiver from the drop-down menu.

2. If you did not select a receiver from the drop-down list, the scan screen will automatically display. Continue with “Token pairing.”

Token pairing

This section provides the steps to install the TVU Anywhere app on your smart mobile device.

1. To enter a Token code, press the “123” icon.

2. Enter your Token code and tap Apply.

3. To manually scan a Token code, press the Scan icon and allow the smartphone to scan the Token code.

Step 3 – Going Live

After you have successfully paired your device to a receiver, the status indicator in the top left corner of the screen displays “STANDBY” until you go live with the receiver.

Live button

When you go live with the receiver, the status indicator changes from “STANDBY” to “LIVE” on the top left of the screen. The Live button turns to a red square. The receiver you are currently transmitting to displays on the top of the screen. In addition, the live streaming time and the transmission rate are displayed at the top of the screen.

If the TVU Anywhere Lite app is not paired with a TVU receiver or the TVU receiver is not powered on and you cannot transmit live video.

Stopping Live

To stop going Live, press the red square. The “LIVE” status button and “STANDBY” will display again.

TVU Anywhere Lite features

The TVU Anywhere Lite app allows you to access and use eight additional features.

Reverse facing camera feature

This feature allows a user to switch between front and rear camera perspectives.

1. Press the reverse camera icon.
2. To return your camera to front facing, press the reverse camera icon once again.

Flash feature

The flash feature is used to turn on the flash for extra lighting when needed.

1. To turn on the flash, press the flash icon.
2. To turn the flash function off, press the flash icon again.

White balance (WB) feature

The WB feature allows a user to adjust the white balance of their video.

1. Press WB in the sidebar. The WB defaults to Auto.
