TVU Networks Awarded NewBay Media’s Best of Show Award at NAB 2015

Award for Integrated MIMO Microwave Mesh Represents Fifth Straight Year TVU Has Received Recognition for Technological Excellence

LAS VEGAS, NV – April 28, 2015 – TVU Networks, the global technology leader in live mobile IP newsgathering solutions, announced today that TVUPack TM8200 with Integrated MIMO Microwave Mesh technology was named the recipient of one of the industry’s most prestigious technology honors, NewBay Media’s Best of Show Award, presented at the 2015 NAB Show in Las Vegas by TV Technology.

NewBay Media’s Best of Show Awards are evaluated by a panel of engineers and industry experts, and are selected based on innovation, feature set, cost efficiency and performance in serving the industry. Winners receive an award for display and will be featured in TV Technology, the digital television authority, serving the broadcast, cable, production, post production, business and new media markets. All nominated products also are featured in the special Best of Show Awards Program Guide, to be distributed in digital edition form to more than 100,000 readers of TV Technology, Digital Video, Video Edge, Radio World, Radio magazine, Pro Sound News and Sound & Video Contractor after the convention.

“Recognition with an award at the NAB Show from NewBay Media’s Broadcast & Video Group is a strong vote of confidence and admiration from our leading industry publications,” said NewBay Media Broadcast & Video Group Vice President & Group Publisher Eric Trabb.

TVUPack TM8200 with Integrated MIMO Microwave MESH technology enables TVUPack to transmit live HD video simultaneously over cellular, Ethernet, WiFi and MIMO Mesh networks for enhanced resiliency in areas with challenging bandwidth conditions. Multiple-In Multiple-Out antenna technology (MIMO) allows for a packet to be transmitted by more than one antenna into the channel. Additionally, when the packet comes out of the channel, it is received on multiple antennas. When multiple MIMO radios are positioned in strategic locations around the area from which the live video will be transmitted, an intricate microwave mesh network is created that allows for the transmission signal to travel farther and carry more information with increased reliability. To increase the range and effectiveness of MIMO, you simply add antennas to help relay the data from the transmitting location to the receiving location. MIMO is self-forming and self-healing, meaning that it’s extremely easy to set up, and capable of responding to changing conditions.

Using its proprietary MN-MIMO waveform, TVUPack with MIMO Microwave Mesh features a unique internal modem module that contains embedded cellular modems and the MIMO IP microwave radio with dual antennas. TVUPack is able to use the multiple cellular connections and the integrated Microwave Mesh IP radios simultaneously to provide a stable broadband IP connection in a limited area. This helps augment transmission capabilities particularly in congested cellular locations. The solution is designed to be flexible, so by adding more MIMO IP radios, the microwave mesh networks can be expanded for even longer transmission range and reliability
